I mentioned this in the Akron game thread:

I’m sure many of us “old timers” are experiencing flashbacks of Bobcat kickers past. Mine are centered on Jeff Marchant. Yours?

Jeff Marchant: Career Field Goal percentage: 59%. Career Extra Point percentage: 86%. Classic!

The guy who transferred to Kansas State, drawing a blank on the name. Was a head case here. At Kansas State he got his head screwed on right and did a good job.

Interesting point, BTC . . . but be sure not to share that stat with BA.

His career long was not close to 40 yards.

These are 18-19 year-old kids. I feel for the young man. He seems to have decent range. Hope he can look back on this as a positive someday.

Agree 110% to see CBS keeping the camera on him and his emotional state was in a way troubling, because you could see his emotions and how much he cares and felt like he's let his team down.

We've been fortunate to have a decade of Weller > Yazdani > Zervos.

Vandenberg clearly doesn't have his mojo and only practice and converting in game is going to fix that. I was happy to see him nail the long one and it was the right move to let him attempt the third one after he missed the prior attempt. At the same time, as with any other position, there's a job that needs to be done and if the guy currently getting the opportunities can't do it, we need to find someone that can. There are ten points in this early season that Ohio football does not have. Yazdani started his career that way - the incumbent wasn't making the kicks and Yaz delivered on his chances.

Kicking was pretty solid for my undergrad years with Kevin Kerr and Dave Zastudil.

Dave got a lot of reps when Knorr took over.

His 44-yarder was right down the middle with room to spare. His kickoffs have looked good, generally touchbacks or higher kicks inside the 10 that Ohio has stopped inside the 25. I think he's got the talent. I hope he can make it show better in the future.
