Well I do love football, so sue me.

But I do really have to wonder what’s the point of having a 6 game season with no fan attendance? For a handful of Seniors? It comes off as a half hearted attempt to have a season. And as much as I love football, I just don’t think it’s worth the risk. I’d scrap the season and resume with the 2021 season.

You have to justify the expense of having a staff and keeping everyone employed.

Reason 1: ESPN money

Reason 2: ESPN money

Reason 3: ESPN money

Reason 4: The MAC didn't want to be the only 1A league not playing this fall

Reason 5: ESPN money (maybe CBSSN money if CBSSN carries any games

Anybody have any sense of how this money's being distributed? I assume it's pro-rated?

If not, that's a nice little perk. Given that sports ratings are way down across the board, and there are fewer games, it would be lucky to get the full payout.

The great thing about being a part of a team consisting of I’m sure well over 100 FB players, dozens of coaches, athletic trainers, broadcast personnel, and lord knows how many team managers and an ungodly amounts of the athletic department devoting themselves to the cause. The fact that the entire organization is in unity towards one goal should explain why they want to see this thing thru. It’s not about letting seniors play a few more games. It’s about every member of the Bobcat program fulfilling what they do best.

Because we need the Gladiators to distract from the crumbling of the system. Order in the form of a predictable game with rules that don't necessarily reflect the inequality of the overall system is needed to keep the sheep from rising up and murdering their sheepherder. Switch on ESPN, America, and go to sleep.

I know this is a weird thing to say in 2020, because we’re all supposed tp have an unbending take and never give an inch, but I don’t know if they should be playing or not. I’m glad for the players. I’ll watch it. But I’d be okay if they had just not played.

Mostly I’m looking forward to 2021 when hopefully I can watch the games un-conflicted.

I’d pay for a fast forward button until fall 2021 for many reasons.

I don’t know that money has much to do with it because the MAC is screwed going forward either way. The tv money is just cutting massive losses. We’re at a “shut down 60 more Sears and KMart stores” stage of the conference’s reckoning.

+1

Call me old skool but I like to believe the above statement means something.

Definitely makes you appreciate the completion of every season, covid or not.
