Does anyone know if there's been an update on Rourke's injury ?

Missing from 2 deep on defense: Keye Thompson, Ogun-Semore, Will Evans. Talk about some players who could help the defense...

All injuries? Anyone have more info?

As mentioned in another post, Rourke still listed as starting QB, Daxon now on behind Caesar. Some on the Buffalo OL are going to have a long day trying to move those two off the ball if we rotate them.

Also missing...starting SLB Wood (who did not play last week), J Burton at DT and backup NT Zach Burks.

Tons of RS-FR/SO's all over the two deep on defense, especially at the LB position.

Many of those got plenty of PT last game v. BG as Ohio went 3, sometimes 4, deep at several positions. Doing this against UB instead of BG, however, is a different story.

Agreed. I think Patterson will get his yards and TD's regardless. Hopefully we can at least limit that TD number to less than 3. I'm just worried that OUr offense will be very predictable and one dimensional. Assuming they load up the box and force us to throw, that potentially leads to a lot of three and outs and the game could get ugly, very fast.

Buffalo is an 11.5 point favorite.

I heard the coaches are hopeful he's going to play.

No way its he going to rush for the kind of numbers he did vs BG and KSU against Ohio. Not gonna happen.

Do we actually think this defense is going to stop Jarrett Patterson? I don't think so. Would love to see the 'Cats in the MAC title game, but Saturday's going to be a shootout and I don't see it going Ohio's way. Thoughts?

A proven RB who rushed for nearly 1,800 yards last year and 920 yards this year through 4 games vs a young, inexperienced LB group (assuming no K Thompson, Wood) and a DL group that still has a lot to prove.

I would love nothing more than to beat Buffalo but I'm trying to be realistic from what I've seen from the Bobcats through 3 games.

If Daxon actually plays it'll make me feel a bit better but again, trying to lower my expectations.

I don't think we'll totally shut this guy down, but Frank in the past has a knack for getting his defenses to contain key players and shorten the game. I don't see us winning a shootout either, but we need to run hard, eat clock and make them one dimensional. Also, no turnovers and please grab a couple.

Can Vandenburg make a clutch kick or two? if we keep the score down, special teams becomes critical.

He was asked about how he thought Kurtis has been playing this year. He said he thought he’s done a good job but with his injury, his season will be cut short. https://instagram.com/stories/nathan_rourke/2456226922536...

This. He's not going to break 300 and 400 yards like he did vs BG and KSU. I'll give him the 100-yard mark but he's not scratching more than 200 vs Ohio.

Obviously it’s different now for a variety of reasons but I seem to remember too that Frank has had quite a bit of success against star running backs over the years. One that comes immediately to mind here was holding Kareem Hunt in check during his senior year a few years back (looked it up and was 2016). 50 yards with a 3.3 ypc average. Kept waiting for him to break out and he never did. You may remember that we did win the game too.

I am going to go the optimistic route here and say that Armani can play loose now without thinking if he'll be benched for Rourke. He can go out and run the gameplan. I NEVER like the 2-headed QB monster. It didn't work with us when Vick and Sprague were in and out. It worked a little but still not a title with Windham and Maxwell. Pick a QB and go with it. Now Armani can just run and throw without the mistakes costing him a series. It may turn out to blow up in our face but I actually think he will step up with confidence that he's the guy. I think Rourke is absolutely our future and will be a great one but if he's out, that lets Armani loosen up.

I'm among the biggest Bobcat shills around but I see us losing this game by 10-13 points. Hope I'm wrong but from what I've seen we're not nearly as good as Kent - and we all know what the Beefs did to the Flashes.

Some predictions in this thread remind me of predictions last week prior to the basketball game at Illinois.

Buffalo's been playing great lately so hopefully that means they are due for a bit of a drop off game. Hoping they choose tomorrow! Buuuut they could also come in razor focused to redeem for last year's game when the Cats picked their pockets in OT.

We might as well cancel next week too since Kent is mucked up as well. I wonder if OUr guys get extra years? I would love to have some of them back!!!! Meaning Tuggle if he's willing along with Meservy and Kittrell, Dorsa and Evans! Oh, and toss in the Luehrman twins for good measure!!!!

With an undefeated record and only Akron on deck, Buffalo had little to gain and a lot to lose in this game with Ohio. The cancellation essentially was a "win:" for UB.

NCAA has already said this year doesn't count.
All fall and winter athletes get an extra year of eligibility.
