Yes, watched that game, switching back and forth. Not sure what happened to the Herd since the Rice game, but they haven't been the same. Did you see that record that Grant Wells achieved in the first half of this game? First QB this year to have an 0-10 passing streak this year. Now that's a stat to be proud of, and a stat we never would have known about prior to computer record keeping. Hoping for a bowl win. Go Herd!

This is exactly why I wanted to see them play Ohio this year. Everyone stated how great Buffalo was this year, but 3 of their 5 wins were vs horrible teams and they can't win in Athens. What Ball State did was right along the lines of what I felt Ohio could have done. UB finally faced a team that could defend their running game and when they got punched in the face for the first time this season, they couldn't respond. They've had two pretty damn good teams get to Detroit in two of the last three years, only to get upended their. Congrats to Ball State.

Buffalo looked like a boxer who hadn't faced good competition in a while. They needed to play our defense as much as we needed to play them. Not having Rourke would have hurt the Cats, but the Beefs looked beatable.

More importantly, hats off to Ball State. They are a good story and played really well last night.

BSU has a MUCH better rushing defense than we had this year: 134 ypg vs 194 ypg. We gave up 216 to Akron -- AKRON -- which was 9th in the MAC in rushing this season with 849 yds in six games. Patterson probably would've shredded us. BSU did a good job of containing him last night and it really helped their cause when he went out with an injury in the 3rd quarter. I don't expect him to play in Buffalo's bowl game; he'll want to heal up for the NFL draft.

BSU was very well prepared last night. They shut down Buffalo most of the night. They did give up three or four big plays which kept Buffalo in the game, but beyond that they were in control. Mike Neu might finally be seeing results there.

Buffalo's Achilles Heal is their FG kicking game. McNulty was 0-2 this season, including having a chip-shot FG blocked last night. In the 4th quarter Buffalo was 4th and two around the BSU 20 and down by ten. A FG would've put them down by seven with about eight minutes to go, but they went for it instead and didn't make it. That was the nail in the coffin. They probably would've gone for the FG if they had more confidence in the kicking game.

Buffalo missed a semi chip shot FG and extra point against us last year, allowing us to squeak out a win.

I agree, no way Buffalo would have went undefeated if they had played the same schedule that we did.
