Good to be the first MAC school to sign department wide and a great recruiting tool:

Looks like the start of something that could grow. I can't tell if it is more about the individuals or the team/institution itself. Probably both... which I like.
I view it as a positive and credit our AD and the Ohio athletic department for stepping up and establishing this association.
I think Julie Cromer views student athletes in a refreshingly supportive way.

The part that I like is that it is department wide. The part that concerns me is the emphasis on the individual. This screams "look at me." And, as oldkatz correctly points out, tough to put much faith in a branding company that doesn't even know the name of its clients. Time will tell.

They do an amazing job to be honest. The Big Blue Madness in Kentucky is huge. If they have their hand in that pot, people look forward to that every year. Just to see the new player in all blue and their crazy lil dance before tip off gets fans excited. I think this is a great opportunity. Here are some of my top OU Moments that could be viral-ized:

Pitt vs OU - the face-plant fan who fell trying to jump on to the field.

Javon Hagan - Towel-thief

OU beats Georgetown- Boo Jackson leads OU cheers and fight songs from the balcony above Subway on court Street.

Rourke - Philly special 2.0

Pre-game jersey reveal 2012 vs Temple

2006/7 OU mens basketball vs Buffalo - The "Tip in"

Penn State 2012 - Bill O'Brien says OU cant tackle. Then won't shake hands after the game.

Penn State 2012 - Tettleton "Fist Pump" at crowd after touchdown dive

Jason Grooms starts "We love football" chant that is still said to this day after every win.

Frisco Bowl - OU takes on top defense in country. Shreds them and blanks them on offense.

What moments do you think deserve this branding that can attract new athletes?

Great list Ex Cat

I would add:
Going for two in overtime for the win at North Texas State in a driving rain!
T3 had the play for exactly that situation.
Kudos for Frank for going for it.

I would add:

Alvin Floyd catching a blocked punt in mid-air and running it in for a TD vs WMU in 2018.

Deon Byrum's two INTs for TDs vs Pitt.

The Phantom Safety?

Matt Weller's last-second FG at BG for a 29-28 win.

If managed and presented effectively (INFLCR's role), the "individual" efforts will help build the Ohio brand and the Ohio brand efforts will reenforce individual value. Much better than having an array of efforts not being orchestrated.

Did we comeback from 21 down at Miami to avoid a losing season within the last 5 years?

Alvin Floyd did what? I don't remember that. Now I have to go look for it on YouTube. That's definitely a money-maker!

So in your opinion, what do you feel this would have added to your value as a player? Better chance at a professional career. More money now that players can make money off of licensing like EASports.

From thread title, I thought Branding Deal was a h.s. recruit that signed an LOI with our Bobcats.

Saturday, January 19th, 1991 - Ohio is playing at Kent State - Chad Estis off the bench and Gus Johnson score 8 points in something like 12 seconds to win the game at the buzzer by one point - it was the most insane thing I ever saw.

I wish there was a video or write up somewhere

You can use social media to capitalize off these events today basically. If Gus Johnson scores 8 points in 12 seconds and is a salesman down the road, he may be able to monetize that moment into a commercial. It just leads to other opportunities.

If Alvin Floyd goes into coaching after football and the only opening is special teams coordinator...he can use that "Blocked Punt" moment to open a door. Not saying he can't now, but it has more impact now that guys can utilize their likeness.

Cartwheel Hagen will never be told no in a Fitness Director interview for the rest of his life.

I think the only person we have to worry about using their likeness to uphold their big bad boy image........is Rufus!

I think it was Chad Estis and Rush Floyd who ignited the comeback.

Gus Johnson was in Gary Trent's class (freshman in 1992-93).

Remember watching that game on TV with a friend. We had given up, and were about ready to tune out when the comeback began. It was one of the most amazing ones I ever witnessed -- right up there with comeback win over that same KSU teams in the early '60s.

I was at that game. We lost Dan Aloi for the season in practice the day before. We played like crap despite the fun finish.

Dan Aloi was a very underrated player on that team. Lewis Geter was the best player in the MAC, but one man can't do it all by himself (as Dave Jamerson had proven the previous year). Aloi gave the Cats another legitimate scoring threat.
