They've updated the roster to include the incoming Freshman and any additional transfers / PWOs. Some new & notable names on there. Also FWIW, all of the Freshman from the 2021 class appear on the roster, so that's a good thing.

Hopefully Johnson upgrades the kicking game, either directly or by motivating Vandenberg to turn it around. The placekicking in just three games last year was beyond inconsistent and straight up a liability.

With this punter Jonah from Akron, is that pretty rare for a MAC player to transfer to another MAC school?

In any case, Ohio had a good look at him when he punted 10 times last year against the Bobcats.

One time I see Denzel Daxson listed as a Senior and the next time he’s listed as a Junior.

What is he?

I would say his class listing is the most confusing of any player that I’ve followed.

What did he do to lose eligibility?

It would be awesome to see him and Mayfield together for two years.

I noticed that some are listed as "redshirt fifth year." I haven't seen that before. Is it a new classification because of the 2020 exemption or just a way of saying "grad student"? I don't think there are any grad students on the roster.

Good question. I'm leaning toward the COVID thing but the roster is tougher to read in terms of eligibility now.

Before COVID, you could look at the updated roster and see how much eligibility a guy had left, now, not so much. For instance, QBs Beler and Harris came to Ohio with the 2020 class and are currently listed on the roster 'redshirt freshman.' It confusing because, for eligibility purposes, they are freshmen, not redshirt freshman, because the 2020 season didnt count for eligibility purposes. If Beler does not play four or more games in 2021, he is a redshirt freshman in terms of eligibility going into 2022.

Daxson now back to being a junior….good news.

Looks like some work on the roster has been accomplished…..still have a 6’10” WR….he will be tough to handle in the red zone.

Michigan State transfer Mayfield could play DE in a pinch.
