The Pitt and PSU games are obvious.

Two of my favorites:

1.The look on the coach's face during the black uniform reveal

2.The french fry shower at the Potato Bowl.

The eyepatch quote.

When he fell off a tricycle (?) at some charity race in town.

Frank's Stoicism has been the best I have seen at this level of college sports. That combined with his reputation of being able to beat anyone at push ups makes him the strong and silent type that I would think would inspire his payers to run through walls for him. In a time where college football coaches regularly put their feet in their own mouths, it was nice to see a guy who sort of inspired people to leave it all out on the field rather than be all talk. He made me proud to be a Bobcat, because we Bobcats are doers not talkers.

A non-game moment that always make me laugh is that black jersey reveal video that went viral years back. The team is going nuts and then they flash to Frank and you can almost see he crack a smile. It’s great.

One of mine took place, I think, after the bowl win over SD State. Frank's wife came onto the field and they hugged.

My favorite was at the end of the first bowl win (against Utah State) when he was being interviewed and he ended it by saying something like "...and I gotta go" and took off as the Gatorade was about to be dumped on him.

That time Frank came to Ohio in 2005 with some kick-ass assistants, rolled up his sleeves, reached his long arm into the abyss and pulled Ohio's football program out by the collar.

Onw of my favorites was a conversation I had with Frank at a preseason event when he said to me that he goes into every season with the goal to be undefeated. This was in answer to a question that I asked him about the difficulty of the upcoming season which had a few tough games early. As he responded to me he got a twinkle in his eye and a winsome half-smile that quickly turned into a look of resolve with a sharp penetrating stare. I'm probably not describing this too well, but those who have talked to Frank or watched his press conferences have seen these very quick changes in facial expression that he makes that sometimes convey as much, or more, than his actual words. This little encounter to me was kind of a vignette of the Frank Solich gestalt.

During Frank's second or third season ,I met one of his uncles on the sidelines during a game.

We had talked for a bit when he said "Frank didn't come here to win games. He came here to build a program".

I think you described it quite well.
