I may have missed this earlier, but is it possible to get hard copy tickets for this football season? I just bought mine and the screen said:

Season tickets will be available through your online account prior to the start of the season. All tickets will be formatted for mobile devices only and you will be required to download them to your Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Pay (Android) app prior to attending games. You will be required to present your tickets on your mobile device for validation upon entering the Convocation Center. We WILL NOT accept Mobile tickets printed on paper. Information on how to retrieve and download your Mobile tickets will be sent periodically throughout the Summer. If you have questions about the Mobile ticket process please contact us at 800-575-2287 and press '2' for the Ticket Office. less

So is there some kind of law in Ohio that allows a place like O.U.to require you to own a smart phone ?

Standard policy. NFL has been doing it for years. Makes it difficult to donate tickets to charity for silent auctions, etc. You can get paper tickets if you go to the box office and request,

Cuts down on fraud as mobile transfers are done through the Panthers office - probably not an issue in Athens.

So if I have four tickets and all four people aren't coming at the same time, how do they get tickets? When given the option for paper or electronic tickets for concerts, I always go paper and save the stubs. I've got some classics all the way back to the early 70s including the Eagles, Pink Floyd, and CSN&Y. Lots of great stories and memories in those ticket stubs.

You can transfer their tickets to their phone - assuming they have one. Actually has been easier for us since my son comes in from his own place now - I just text him his ticket and go from there. Took me a week or two to get used to it. But then I'm old...oh wait...lol

So in your earlier comment, you said "it cuts down on fraud." Please explain. And you have a good point about transferring tickets - "assuming they have one" or in some cases actually want to bring it to the game.

In the case of the panthers I never possess the bar code on my phone - I access my tickets (barcode) on TicketMaster/Panther.com

So the only way I can send or transfer a ticket to another person (phone) is to instruct TicketMaster/Panther.com to send the ticket to THAT phone number. Therefore, If someone tries to transfer a ticket to you in any other way, it is a fake/duplicate. They (ticket seller) have most likely taken a screen shot of the barcode and texted it. Plus the code isn't static - you can actually refresh it to see that it is live/good.

Only hassle is you need to access the ticket/code before getting to the turnstile as everyone is jumping on the internet at that point. So load it as you walk up.

Process is killing the scalper business pregame.

I'll complain about digital ticketing after I rent my next VHS movie at Blockbuster.

There's still a Blockbuster in Bend, Oregon. A little far to go.

So if you don't have Google Pay (Google knows too much about me the way it is) do they just text the tix to you?

Problem solved. There is a print at home option. They switched my account to that today.

By the way. The memories from the CSN&Y concert may have trouble finding their way through altered mental acuity. Not sure but just saying it is possible.
