Who cares at the end of the day? Ohio University simply does not have the resources to play with the big boys, many of whom are going to face severe financial issues in the face of the sudden professionalization of college football, which finally puts the hypocrisy of the Ivory Tower on full display.

Many are projecting that College Football will ultimately take on an NFL type model, which means that there will be 32 teams Nation-wide in the hunt for a National Championship any given year. The most interesting part of this possibility will be those teams that are on the bubble and who drop out of the top 32 bubble year in and year out. Sucks to be them.

As for Ohio, we will never realistically be in that conversation. We are a Mid-Major on the best of days, and actually lower than that more consistently year in and year out. That is just a fact, unless Southeastern Ohio suddenly becomes the next destination for high finance development.

As Elmer Fudd would say “twue”. I completely agree with your assessment.
