The latest news update at the top of our website was posted June 23. June 23!

The "Results/Upcoming Games" section reads "No games to report." No games in the past, apparently no upcoming contests to look forward to.

Combine this with the embarrassing gameday issues at Peden and we clearly have a department that's running at less than 50% efficiency. If this is due to COVID related manpower issues and budget cuts, please communicate this fact to fans, who otherwise will assume the administration is either incompetent or just doesn't give a damn.

There have to be aspiring PR pros and journalists who would love to get experience writing, editing and maintaining a Division I athletics website. There have to be. We’ve never harnessed what we have. Never.

Not sure what y’all are seeing, but I’m seeing on mobile the latest stuff from yesterday’s FH game and results? BUT, to answer your suggestion, the answer would be no. There are students who occasionally stumble in, but you’ve went from 3 full time SIDs and two GAs to now one full time SID and 2-3 GAs. The GAs typically came from Sports Ad, so the background they have isn’t quite what was needed. There’s been a focus now on “content” whatever that actually is. You lost one full time SID to a director of content position, and then under that are student video and photo people and a content GA.

*** After the fact note, you've also went from 3 full time video people to none. ***

*** After, after the fact, they replaced the website with a new version around late June before the SID that was running it left for a new position. Try clearing your browser history, cookies, etc and see if it gives you the new version. Not sure why it’s directing to the old one. ***

Indeed.

Our site currently offers a photo gallery from the 2020 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

The MAC website can be just as bad. It was often incomplete or just plain wrong about hoops and baseball schedules and standings last year. Some of it had to do with communication problems over covid reschedulings but other times it was sloppiness.

Undergrad Sports Management students are required to complete a quarter's worth of work in a campus practicum. I did mine in the SID's office and it was lovely. They asked me to stay on and help volunteer after I was done. They ALWAYS need people over there.

For what it's worth, I have refreshed the page, cleared my browser's cache, etc., and the desktop site is still stuck back in June. Feels like an athletic department problem.

Everything loads fine for me, game story and post game quotes look to be loaded on Saturday.

What I do find funny is the URL for the game story....clearly they had started the article before the game and had it saved as a draft.

"Football Ohio Defaults Duquense for first win of 2021" ...oops.

Now that is absolutely hilarious. Feels weird that the website doesn’t automatically default the URL to the current story title. Would be fun to see what other articles have that issue.

As to the volunteering in the department comment, 100%. More help never hurts, but as far as writing stories, creating content, etc the help would be better suited from Scripps/Media vs Sports Ad. I know of several people they had gotten from sports ad that killed it on doing game day stats, but as far as web design, video, etc those students don’t often find their way down as the relationship that athletics has with sports ad doesn’t really exist other places.

As far as still having issues… I’m not sure what to suggest other than trying another browser. Try clicking on this new story (https://ohiobobcats.com/news/2021/9/12/womens-soccer-ohio... ) and see if it maybe gets you onto the new site? Doesn’t seem like anyone else is stuck on the old site, so definitely not an athletics department problem.

For the longest time on the b-ball webpage they had the MAC tourney semifinal box score as "TBA" vs Toledo and the championship game box score as "TBA" vs Buffalo. I see they finally changed it.

I'm not seeing any issue with the website. I'm on Google Chrome and it looks updated to me. There is even a photo gallery from the Duquesne game on the front page.

There's a serious lack of attention to detail with the site. In the game preview for Northwestern, the link to the Ohio game notes embeds Northwestern's notes.

Sam Towns hasn't had his weight listed on the basketball roster since he got here. Not that I'm obsessed with someone's weight, but how hard is it to just ask Sam his measurables and put it on the site?

Adeludun does not appear on the basketball roster yet. There hasn't been a news release posted to the site about his signing, nor has there been for Ezuma or Schmock. How hard is it to write up a paragraph of biography information on each, get a quote from Boals on each, and post it? That's barely a half day's work.

The women's basketball roster hasn't been updated since before Deesh Beck left the team. You'd think she's still here. But she does appear on Wright State's roster.

I've noticed the same thing. I mean how hard is it to upload the correct game notes?
