Trust me when I say this is no way a slight or criticism on Shakari Denson, who many of us believe will have his time to shine in time as a Bobcat. But as I was watching Syracuse's Deuce Chesnut literally shut down one half of the field starting at cornerback for Syracuse as a true freshman, I envisioned (dreamed?) about Denson doing something similar for us this season.

Knowing that ESPN had Denson, who originally committed to Michigan State, rated a 4-star and the 19th best cornerback nationally in the 2020 class, I went back to see where Chesnut was rated. I had to go down the list a bit to find him--a 3-star, rated 48th. All of which is meaningless in the big picture.

Soooo, the reason I created this post is to say if Denson can exhibit cover, tackling and ball skills even in the same area code that Chesnut stifled us with last Saturday, we'll really have something to look forward to and enjoy.
