Not gonna happen. The losing will, but not the scrapping of the coach after his first year. Reckless use of resources, bad PR.
I don't know anything about Coach Albin as a person.

Does anyone, who does know him, think if the season continues as it has, he'd either resign or take a lesser buy out ?
A good friend/former roommate of mine is neighbors with Albin. I advised my friend tell Albin that no matter how bad it gets, don’t quit/resign: make them fire his [butt]. The AD made her bed, let her sleep in it, buyout and all. (Because he’s not going to get a better paying position than this)

No idea if this was actually communicated or if Albin would follow this advice in any case

bshott and the LOVE during the TOS days were fine. Monroe always found a way to derail threads or be mind-numbingly annoying.
The problem with Monroe was that he posted like he had one of those little plastic birds that bobbed up and down, hitting a macro on his keyboard so it would post the same thing over and over again in every thread. Dude, we understand how you feel, now find a different/more entertaining way to say it.

The biggest problem most had with Monroe was that he was right. That seems to rub some the wrong way.

Spot on Bshot44. In reality if we lose the next couple or so games Cromer should go ahead and make an announcement before the end of the season that Coach Albin is gone now and that "X" will complete the season as Interim HC while the University is conducting a nationwide search for a new HC. What more damage could be done by doing that? Come up with the $$$ to buy out Albin's contract for next year and move on quickly. Otherwise I fear that continuing down the path we are currently on will only destroy the program on many levels.

While my level-headed self knows you're right ... there's no way they can financially buy him out .... isn't it more reckless they paid Albin a larger base salary than Frank ever had in his 16 years??? Albin has ZERO years head coaching experience in D1. So sure, let's pay him a ton (by Ohio standards)! I totally believe she was in a bind and his rise to head coach may have been forced by Frank and/or other factors ... but a guaranteed $1.1M?!?! That's reckless and all on Cromer. Foolish.

Much like Albin's play calling the last 16+ years. Yes ... he was calling plays in that UC disaster and a lot of other disasters.

I believe that you and Monroe are tied in one very special BA category: Posters who have never admitted that they were ever wrong about anything.

For clarity I wasn't trying to idolize Monroe. He didn't express his opinion in a positive or constructive way and he made his own bed on this board. However, looking back, some of his main arguments were spot on.

52 years and counting.

Doesn't change a thing. We had 16 years to watch it play out. Give anyone a schedule that was tailored to win 6 games at worst and I'm pretty confident any coach would have had similar results.
