After watching what has happened so far just two weeks into the MAC season, one thing is clear, there is no clear-cut favorite in either division and things are going to come down to the wire on both sides. The silver lining for Ohio today, this was a crossover loss. Ohio still has a clean East slate and still controls its own destiny.

The MAC East is usually bad. This year it is REALLY bad. One of the reasons that it is even worst than normal is that Ohio was consistently competitive and this year it has one less competitive program.

Kent St. doesn't strike fear in anyone but is the favorite right now. Buffalo is 2-4 and they will be a 2 TD favorite to beat Ohio next week. We look better with Rodgers and the MAC East looks really bad. If there were MAC East betting futures, and as far as I know there are not, I think OUr betting odds would have improved to around 60-1 from where they would have been a couple of weeks ago. If we can pull off a pretty big upset next week we can start talking about it as an outside, but still maybe realistic, possibility. We probably just lost what was the second easiest remaining game on the schedule so let's not start losing sight of just how bad we still are. I think that at 1-5 with a loss to a team that might not be in the top 70 of FCS if we still have very minimal but not totally impossible chances to win the MAC East says more about the state of the MAC East than anything else.
