I read the first few sentences from the Toledo Blade before I had to pay. Can someone in Toledo tell all of us if the MAC made a new rule
BG can bus up to play Toledo the day of the game.
No one else in the league can do that

I mean, it’s a half hour drive for what will probably be a 7 or 8 kick. I think there were concessions made last year as far as day trips, but those were for teams not named football.

The rule is for home teams. No hotel stays the night before a home game. Toledo's Jason Candle pays out of his pocket so that he can stay in a hotel room and away from his three kids.

I would imagine that players from Akron and Kent typically sleep in their own beds the night before the Wagon Wheel game is played?

Campuses are what, 15 miles apart?

Believe it or not, no, they have traditionally been sequestered in a local hotel. Total waste of money, IMO.

Incidentally, when the Bobcats visit NE Ohio, they often stay at the Sheraton Suites in Cuyahoga Falls, which is owned by an Ohio alum. Hope we get a special rate.

Get the same rate that every other MAC team gets.

We stayed for years during home games.

I always really liked the rooms in that hotel. Coach Burrow used to crack me up because he would act like he was witnessing one of the 7 wonders of the world looking at the waterfall flow behind the hotel. “Hey did you see the waterfall?” Breakfast: “There’s a waterfall behind the lobby. You should check it out.” Position meetings: “Did everyone here take a look at the waterfall? Pretty crazy, huh?”

The one time I traveled up and stayed there the waterfall was frozen. Never got the full experience.

It's a good waterfall.

They flattened the one over in Munroe Falls, which is sad because you could walk right up next to it. It was a good waterfall, too.

“Dad, I bought you Falling Water.”

“Like, a waterfall for the swimming pool?”

“No, the Frank Lloyd Wright home.”

(This joke only works when the son is the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft and likely a star NFL quarterback for the next decade.)

Before too long, the old Gorge Dam -- which is huge -- will be leveled, too, which is great for the river.

How you know when you've become an old man at heart is when you can appreciate a good waterfall.

And Beau's on the River (in the Sheraton) offers a very nice and tasty menu with some seats over that waterfall...
