I disagree. Good on her for coming on the show to discuss it. I heard accountability for the game day experience being rough and a disappointment at our 0-4 start. Not a lot of specifics on how/wha but I have asked for accountability or at least an acknowledgment that this start - record and play on the field - is not Ohio football and I heard that. Again, good on her for wanting to address it and nice job by Russ to ask the obvious yet tough questions, especially as an employee.

The concession stands that we have were built when the stadium held 12,000 and there were no more than 4 to 6 things on the menu - popcorn, hotdogs, coffee, and maybe pop and every transaction was cash and those working could do the math in their head. Now we have lots of options, credit cards, and some of the food is prepared off site and has to be brought in. Our current setup is simply inadequate and will need a complete redesign. I went down and looked at both sides - student and home side and it's an absolute disaster because of the "kitchen" we have to work in.

As an aside, I ran the big concession stand at Blossom years ago when we routinely has 20,000 fans with the munchies.

I miss seeing the conference flags of each team flying on permanent poles at the top of the stadium; yes the band carries them during pre-game but in years gone by they flew throughout the games.

I thought the field looked okay but perhaps too much little black rubber causing a dulling effect of the color?

My older brother, who first stepped on campus in the fall of 1959 thought the experience favorable. Beautiful sunshine, good view from seats twenty rows up and on the 5 yardline, competitive game with some decent action. He had eaten and drank a few in Tailgreat so needed nothing but the water he bought before lines formed. The restrooms were uncrowded. His only negative observation was no available drinking fountain to refill his bottle. The post game band show was thrilling for him and the concession stand worker came out and gave away hotdogs to the 110 fans.

He didn't once look at the scoreboard video; just football and band and his comment was that Peden, with max 6 home games was a nice venue of low overhead for the university and the experience should have been good for any young man attending that might want to suit-up for the Bobcats.

C'mon, SBH. Blossom allowed fans to bring their own coolers with adult beverages back then, therefore allowing you to avoid buying that overpriced 3.2% crap from Alan.

In 1959 there was no 110. Your brother would have been watching the marching band directed by Charles Minelli. Your brother's observatons were spot on. There were also vendors coming through the stands -- on both sides -- selling hotdogs, pop, cracker jacks and the like. No need to wait in line!

Part of my "compensation package" was a free ticket to every show in the summer of 1973 for a guest. My girlfriend (now wife of almost 44 years) often went with me to work. I had to report at 2 so she'd sit out on the lawn and read a book or do some sewing. She got to hear some pretty impressive sound checks. Somehow we made it through the summer without her becoming a "seamstress for the band."

We had food from the concession stand for the first time this season on Saturday. We missed the Duquesne debacle/game and didn't eat there for the Syracuse game. It's a simple menu but I will say the hot dog's are pretty good. My son and I also split a hot pretzel, and it was good. It's hard stuff to get wrong but at least it's not wrong. Overpriced a bit, sure, but you get that in any stadium venue, I think.

You mean like on this thread from 2013? Amazing how many threads we have here that contain complaints about hot pretzels.
