Kent carried an 18-pt lead into the 4th quarter but NIU scored twice to make it 45-40 with 8 mins. to go. Kent just scored again to go up 52-40 with 7:17 left. Kent scored 31 in the 2nd quarter. They're trying to be the first East team other than MOFO to beat a West team this season.

CMU leads WMU 42-30 with about 3 mins. to go. They scored on a really pretty pop pass on 3rd and 6 from the WMU 11. They set it up with about seven runs in a row then had Bracey in the Wildcat. He stopped about two yds short of the line of scrimmage and hit a wide open TE. We should put that in our playbook; could even use it with Rogers at QB.

Kent wins 54-47 to take over sole possession of first in the East. NIU's first MAC loss. More than 1300 yds total offense; Kent 682 yds, NIU 663. Lombardi threw for 532 yds before getting hurt on a targeting call late in the game. Rudolph had 309 yds receiving for NIU. Kent rushed for 306 yds.

Kent and MOFO play Thanksgiving weekend for probably the East title.

Dang, and I thought the Cats gave up a ton of yards to Swenson.
