Loeffler, who calls the plays for BG, had two unsportsmanlikes on consecutive drives and was tossed with BG leading 28-23 in the third quarter. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/32511052...

Nevertheless, BG went on to win 56-44 on the road. BG never trailed and led by 18 twice in the first half. Buffalo cut the lead to five with under a minute to go but BG recovered an onside kick and scored on the next play.

I'm old enough to remember when Ohio had a 21 point lead at Buffalo.

Hmmmm? How did that turn out?

I would like to think that Frank's greatest regret in life is not getting ejected for protesting that safety call against Buffalo.

I was standing next to an unnamed grad assistant and great former player when that safety happened and he looked the ref in the eye and yelled, “I’m going to bust on your face!” As heinous of a call that that play was, the image of this guy saying that to a MAC official will forever be a highlight of my life.
