Nathan's rookie season might be postponed. The league needs cash quickly or it might have to cancel for this season. It has asked the Canadian government for $42.5 million, which it had hoped to get by Thursday. That might not be doable. The league doesn't have a big TV deal, so it relies on ticket sales and concessions. But any games would be played at a hub stadium without fans. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/winnipeg-regina-c...

BTW, Edmonton is following Washington's lead and will drop the Eskimos team name.

Sadly, I fear this is more than just his rookie season. Leagues like this are going to be in bad shape next season.

Hmmmmm. Right now, any league that can play games should be able to have TV deals. ESPN, and everyone else, needs something to show that is live.

I would think ESPN would write the check, or at least part of it, if the Canadian government doesn’t, or defers on the amount.
