I still want Rourke to be the QB. He’s had really good games with a makeshift team. Let’s look at the play calling. He might’ve not been accurate these past two games but he’s top 20 or 25 in completion percentage and he’s a sneaky fast.

People want and keep expecting Rourke to be his brother. He's not - we need better - time to move on

Look at the passes he's throwing!

What’s wrong with nickel and diming down the field? Teams put up 250-300+ yds a game against us doing it. Only 74 attempts rushing and he’s got 327 yds and averaging 4.4 per. That’s 2nd highest on the team, just behind Tuggle. (didn’t count Armani seems how he has a 99 yd run that probably helps his average lol). We have been asking for a QB who can pass but coaches don’t know how to use him. Our O line has given up 20+ sacks this year. We’re known for running but we’ve only had one or two games where we’ve done that as well as in the past. Kurtis is NOT his brother. How many times did we wish Nathan was more accurate? This is the true first year Kurtis has been able to start. There’s times where he would escape the pocket or a tackle just like Nathan did. Next year would be the year I give a little more thought to move on with a different QB than this year.

If Harris isn't right there next fall then I support getting rid of Albin. Kurtis isn't the answer unless he has major improvement in the off season.

What’s wrong with it? Well let’s start with the fact, we can’t “nickel and dime” ourselves down the field. Have you actually watched games? We’ve Nickled a lot, but I’ve yet to see many dimes.

Sadly yes I’ve watched all the games this year. I’ve seen plenty of nice passes down the field this year that makes me have a good feeling for next year. I’m sure you’re the type that wants a running QB but then complains about passing accuracy.

Kurits could be really good but he doesn’t fit in the offense. You have to have a better runner or make changes to suit his abilities. He’s a nice player but obviously at Ohio because of his brother. Either change and help the kid or find someone who fits. I would really have to examine the QB coaching situation.

Kurtis could use a better OL to give him a little more time in the pocket. He's not the scrambler that his brother was and his legs can't buy him extra time. He has had some nice runs downfield recently, so that has been an improvement. I agree with your general assessment: Either we change our offense to fit his abilities, or we look for another QB.

Some incompletions can be attributed to the receivers.

Watching games on Saturday there were amazing one handed grabs, there were catches off defensive players. Several near all conference receivers just making smart plays on the ball can raise the completion percentage of an average passer.

Against BG, a long pass was a bit under thrown, might have been six if OUr QB could have gotten it out there farther. But, a top line receiver seeing the ball for a time would have adjusted the route, pulled up and caught the ball when it was 9ft off the ground instead of waiting for it to get to him and allowing the DB to make the break-up. Make the catch first and worry about the yards after catch on the occasions you are hit in stride. Adjusting to those long passes makes the QB look good on a not so good pass and will up your yards too.

You would be quite wrong about that. Statistics do not lie, our QB play is/was far less than satisfactory.

Heh, hardly. Statistics are like a bikini. What they reveal can be very intriguing. What they conceal is imperative.

OK, so Rourke and OHIO's passing game was DEAD LAST in the MAC! Not sure how anyone here can sugar coat or conceal anything behind that statistic? Funny, how so many people think that a coaching change will work wonders with the same players.

As much as people loved bashing our defense this year. The defense actually preformed better this year than the offense!!!!

Agreed, but I am using it as a point that some here actually believe that our parts to this team are in place and that its the coaches that have failed. That's not totally the case by any stretch of the imagination. If one did not see the deficiencies in this team last spring, then you were not watching objectively. Yeah, our record was not bad, but we also cancelled our tougher league games.
