With Buffalo needing one more win to be bowl eligible and since the conference shares the bowl proceeds, don’t expect good officiating. This combined with OU’s away woes, tie breakers might be a moot point. The BSU game will haunt this season. I expect Coach Smith to self reflect on many things and coaching decisions. A first year head coach is caught in a whirlwind. Next year I believe he will be more focused where he needs to be, holding players and coaches accountable. To keep a positive culture everyone talks about this is even more critical in the NIL/Portal ERA.

Next year?
Do the Bobcats have a quarterback on the roster waiting to take over?
Have the signed a recruit, or are they hoping to find someone in the portal?

I'm only assuming this is what we'll have to start 2026:
Hype Grand
Tim Carpenter
Levi Davis (incoming commit)

Now about this game at Buffalo; obviously a must-win or forget about going back to Detroit.

My gut feeling is that regardless of what the weather will be like in Buffalo, we need Parker to pass for around 100 yards to have any kind of balance with our offense. But establish the run first. Let Sieh and Duncan get going first, then worry about the passing game.

Thankfully, Buffalo has looked off their last few games. Unthankfully, we've had issues playing on the road all year. In the end, we shall see if we have a happy ending or not.

Barring a QB coming to Athens in the portal, I see a 3-way race for Parker's replacement. Tim Carpenter, from Dayton via Tulsa University, is currently a redshirt freshman; Hype Grand, a true frosh from California; and Levi Davis, a commitment from Olentangy Orange and a Mr. Ohio candidate.

Seriously ? That’s just a stupid comment about officials and a fix. These guys are all working to move up, they are professionals at their hobby (yes 99% have real jobs), but they are damn good and more importantly the folks in that association are upstanding people. The COC is the standard of NCAA officials.

Agreed, pretty outrageous. I can't help but consider his handle outing him as one of our proud "dual fans." OSU fans always think dark forces are at play.

Just sit back and enjoy it. It's Black Friday, your fridge should be stuffed with Turkey Day leftovers. This and whatever Bowl game are all that we have until Labor Day. Why lament what wasn't, just enjoy what is. Do you go out with your wives thinking about the girl you took to Prom? Thought not! :)

If anything, the extra money from having another bowl eligible team there would be marginal at best, and in many years would have decreased money going to the conference (After accounting for expenses)

Buffalo is a team that can actually stop our run and force us to pass more. With the best hitter in school history Red Murdock (Khalil Mack 3.0) near the line, he can cause havoc. This is actually a game where we want to pass first to force their DBs to back up and then take advantage of the run game. Take what's given but be smart. Six in the box we run. Seven in the box we pass.

On defense, we need to stay on top of receivers. Let them catch everything short and rally. I believe we can stop their run game but we can't get caught lacking on deep balls in our secondary. Winnable game but we can't play to their level and expect to win, like we did at Ball State. Both teams have a lot to play for so check the ego before you hit the field to not get stupid penalties.

Going to be cold and somewhat windy. Could be interesting if we are forced to pass.

Stat of the day: Parker is 8-2 as a starter with more than a calendar week to prepare. The only losses are season openers at Syracuse and Rutgers.

Let's hope that continues.

I’ll take it.

Also, still holding strong;

Sieh 17+ carry games: 7 wins
Sieh 16 or less carry games: 4 losses

Don’t overthink it. PART THE RED SIEH.

Lake effect snow for the game?

Do the players eat turkey or will it be a wing buffet with roast beef on weck and heavy on the horse radish as the Thursday meal?

They eat at Eclipse in The Plains then travel to Buffalo.

The game day forecast for Amherst, NY from the Weather Channel calls for cold and windy with occasional light snow:

Occasional snow showers. Quite windy. Temps nearly steady in the low to mid 30s. Winds W at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of snow 50%. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

Looks like another reason for the kickers to be spectators. And we'll see mostly ground games with some short passing from both sides. Not much of a deep threat for either team. The stadium runs north and south so there'll be a heavy cross wind.

Buffalo has played 4 of the bottom 5 teams in the conference, and they were 4-0 against them (31-30 over EMU, 31-28 over Kent,28-21 over UMess, and 28-3 over BGSU). They have played 3 of the top 6 teams, and are 0-3 against them (16-24 to Akron, 20-37 to Miami, 19-38 to CMU).

Can we win on the road? Will weather trump any advantages we have? Will turnovers determine the winner. We’ll soon find out.
