Yep. Nothing wrong with it, but there's a risk involved. With time, college sports programs will realize that NBA/NFL Championship teams are very rarely built solely through free agency, and continuity matters a lot.

But Bangura is a good kind of mercenary, he returned to his former team instead of trying somewhere else. He’s returning to where he liked the first go-around.

I have to believe coaches have always realized that but it is now out of their control. The days of successful teams relying on players in their third, fourth or fifth years in the program are in the past. The Kent State, Ball St., EMU, and more recently UB basketball teams making deep runs in the NCAA tournament come to mind. I, for one, do not consider this a good trend.

The truth is a little less pleasant. Bangura was quoted as saying that several of his academic credits from Ohio were not accepted at MN. In order to graduate - a promise he had made to his mom - he had to return to Ohio to take advantage of those credits.

I am not a gambler, and placing money on Miami would pain me, but I will take some action on Miami over Ball State.
