Ohio at EMU is the MAC's best game this weekend and should be on CBSSN in my biased opinion.

Being honest, however, I have to say WMU at Miami, both 3-0 in MAC play, tops games this weekend in the MAC and deserves being on CBSSN.

I agree with you and most people would. The thing is, CBSSPORTS Network doesn't really pick. They essential sublease whatever bone Disney throws them. Apparently, they think it's important to keep some of the good matchups on their app. When it comes time for MACtion, you'll notice CBS Sports Network will often get the lessor of whatever games are available. The designation is something like "broadcaster of last resort" but I can't remember the exact words. It's a weird marriage but CBS Sports Network is only concerned with filling in enough time slots on a grid and agree to it.

UT-WSU looks interesting to me. I just discovered that I can watch it on CW network via a free Roku app.

Miami needs to do something to get some butts in the seats for what has turned out to be a pivotal game in the MACCG race. Only 6K in perfect weather last Saturday for EMU. Truly pathetic. EMU should have been their homecoming. Not freaking Lindenwood in September.

Akron could do a real solid and take down Buffalo. UB has flirted with disaster against both Kent and UMass but still sits at 3-0. Akron beat CMU already, so I know they have it in them.

Oxford is always going to be tough spot to sell a lot of football tickets. Unless you're a student, staff, or alum of Miami, anyone in Butler County that is remotely interested in football is probably/likely more into UC or OSU. At least in Athens we have the beauty of being the only game in twenty some county block from 70 to the North, the River to the South and East and I'd say the Scioto River Valley to the west. Oxford has a much smaller footprint in that regard.

Miami fans apparently give to NIL, but don’t care about going to a game.

But they’ve been pretty good lately and I think their attendance keeps going down, year to year. Will check that out. Also while the footprint is much smaller, the population of the overall area is multiples higher.

I bet part of the struggle is that anymore a high percentage of Miami students are from out-of-state and have their sports loyalty tied to Chicago or someplace else.

Whatever happened to the concept of being loyal to the school you are actually attending, and rooting for them, regardless of other loyalities you might have had prior to your enrollment? Is that just too 20th Century?

To be fair, Fiami isn't the only school that struggles with this. Akron is a great example of a school where no one in attendance gives two craps about their school. The shadow of being a Buckeyes fan and Browns fan looms large over the Zip. I've met a lot of Oxford types and while they liked to tout that they were elite Miami students they didn't give a hoot about Hawks ball.

WMU/Fiami has a big game feel. This second half should be good. Both defenses get stops.

Miami no-scopes a 52 yard field goal. We second guess attempting from 35.

Tough loss for WMU as their defense was controlling Miami until the 4th. This is the kind of loss that can kill momentum for an overachieving team since they were not a preseason favorite. WMU could lose to CMU who Ohio does not play or control destiny over. Ohio hosting Miami in a couple of weeks is setting up to be a big game and a must win for Ohio to control its path to the MACCG.

Was flipping between WMU-MOFO and UT-WSU games. The latter was a real head scratcher in which UT was a -2 favorite. They ran and threw the ball up and down the field, but staled numerous times on around the 30 or deeper. Looked very good much of the time, but then looked horrible when they weren't looking good. UT's only TD was at the end of the first half when they scored in what I think was less than a minute on a full-field drive. Total yards were close, 299 UT to 321 WSU. and UT won the turnover battle 2 to 1. One of those games where the final score is not indicative of the game itself.

Whoda thunk that Kent would still be in the mix in November? They're two MAC losses are to Buffalo and Toledo, and they're remaining schedule is at BSU at Akron, home vs CMU and at NIU, so they need some help staying there. Still, the last time they had two MAC (or any MAC wins) this late in the season they finished 4-4. Who knows what can happen.
