I still believe one should be assumed innocent until proven guilty. Too bad the NFL thinks otherwise. I realize that the NFL is not a court of law, and doesn’t have to abide by such legal niceties. However, I really wish this approach was taken more often in other aspects of our society. I do hope Brown can get back to the NFL.

Of course one should be innocent until proven guilty and considering that all charges have been dropped, he should be able to return to the NFL. However, that doesn't mean nothing happened. Seems like there's plenty of evidence to indicate that he did hit her. I don't see how we consider this losing his career over a lie.

Or maybe over this:

Per Phillip Heilman of the Florida Times-Union, a witness did not see Brown point a firearm or hear a death threat but did say the woman had "blood on her mouth and that Brown had a cut on his hand." The witness also said that Brown told the woman "he would punch her if she put her hands on him again."

A Jacksonville police officer who arrived at the scene reported seeing "a small red bruise on the woman's left knee and a scratch on her bottom lip."

According to DiRocco's relaying of the report, the witness said Brown responded "I wish I could" when the woman asked if he was going to kill her.

As someone once said - when your baggage outweighs your talent, you lose your opportunity. I'm not sure he will get another opportunity. NFL teams love to discard the Blair Browns in order to imply they are righteous.

The Brown's are expendable and used as PR - The Watson's are almost always thrown lifelines ("paging Mr. Roethlisberger") - unless there is a video.

I don’t know why Brown didn’t play yesterday, but here are the inside linebacker rankings.
