Based on the odds it appears to be MAC blowout city for Week 1, minus the FCS games. Some pretty big point spreads out there, 3+ touchdowns for most games. It would be nice to see an upset but not really sure where that would come from.

Thursday, September 1st
St. Francis (PA) vs Akron
Central Michigan (+21.5) vs 12 Oklahoma State
Ball State (+35) vs Tennessee
Long Island University vs Toledo
Eastern Illinois vs Northern Illinois

Friday, September 2nd
Western Michigan (+22.5) vs Michigan State
Eastern Kentucky vs Eastern Michigan

Saturday, September 3rd
Buffalo (+24) vs Maryland
Bowling Green (+23.5) vs UCLA
Florida Atlantic vs Ohio (+4)
Miami(OH) (+16.5) vs 20 Kentucky
Kent State (+22.5) vs Washington

I remember BG Normal School last year during a horrible season, pulled an upset against U of M (aka The U, aka Ski-U-Ma). Could they do it again versus Big10 bound UCLA?

I'm guessing KSU won't be nearly as good without Dustin Crum.

If Zippy can’t close this out in regulation they’re gonna have all kinds of trouble in OT trying to bottle up that St Francis RB on a short field.

No running game. Just 31 yds in the 4th quarter vs St Francis? Geez.

BSU and CMU just getting walked over. Saw part of the BSU game. No timing on routes, defense really soft, and their lone chance at TD in the first half ended on a nice catch and run but the receiver fumbled at the goal trying to extend for the score.

I didn't see the end. I probably should have checked in om it. Akron apparently missed an extra point which allowed SFU to score and take the game to OT where Akron did pull it out. This was probably the only game where they would have been favored going into the season. This result didn't do anything to change that.

Akron isn't the only D1A team having trouble with 1AA tonight. FIU just scored with 4:00 to go to take a 27-23 lead over Bryant.

BTW, I thought BSU +35 would be a good bet, but they're losing by 52. They don't call them sucker bets for nothing.

CMU might cover the spread. They trailed by 29 at the half but are down 58-44 with about 2:00 to go and are about to get the ball back. They always seem to give Okla St fits.

Central Mich scored 22 points in the fourth quarter to make the final 44-58 OkSt. Didn't think they could pull it out with 3 minutes to go but 44 points against the number 12 team in the country is impressive.
