Looked like the D-line controlled the O-line all scrimmage.
Which in our case it probably means the O-line isn't at a level where it can support a high scoring offense.

That's always the problem with scrimmages. If the offense can't move the ball, is it because the defense is good, or because the offense is not? If the offense can move the ball, is it because the offense is good, or because the defense is not?

Add to that the fact that in Fall camp, the defense usually comes together faster, and you expect the defense to be more dominant early, which it apparently has been. You also expect the offense to improve later in the camp. At this point you have nothing unexpected, nor anything you can use to draw meaningful conclusions.

I was there yesterday for most of the scrimmage. I can share a few observations. Just what I noticed. I am not a trained professional so I will do the best I can.
The starters played well. It was one vs ones. Kurtis had a long TD throw that he seemed to have days to stand in the pocket. For as much as he is critiqued for not being Nathan the kid throws absolute darts. The offensive line is an experienced group and I thought they played pretty well. Julian Ross had a decent run and looked physical. As far as o line depth I thought the 2nd unit looked decent as well. Guys on that unit who have started games. Bangura didn’t take part in team but looked healthy returning kickoffs in special teams period.
The injury to a backup WR put a little bit of a damper on the day and embarrassingly I didn’t see the number. Not sure who it was. Some of the kids practice numbers don’t match game jerseys which makes it a little challenging.
Parker Navarro looked solid in my opinion he can run and seemed to be in command of the 2nd group. I assume he plays at times this season. Really athletic.
The offense seems to be behind the defense but I certainly didn’t think it was a big gap. The defense was high energy and they do fly around. It seems like they have real depth at LB and dudes bring it. Bryce Houston had a sack on a blitz and Blauser is just physical as hell. He gets down the line. Keye and Kyle Kelly also stood out to me. The defensive sideline was really high energy.
No wonder people like Kail, he’s constantly encouraging and pushing teammates. The defensive line looked stout in my opinion. I guess I still have questions about the pass rush and the DE position. A lot of the names you may think could contribute sat this one out.
DB’s were active. Parodie, Cam McUllom and Alvin Floyd all stood out to me.
I was actually impressed with the size of some of these kids from last season. Amburgy looks like an NFL lineman and Ben Johnson looks like he hasn’t missed any weight room time.
Good crowd, great weather and maybe I have green glasses but I thought things looked decent for scrimmage two,

Great stuff! Thanks for all the observations.

I feel like the LB position is one of our stronger groups especially with Keye coming back from injury.

I also saw that Keegan Wilburn had 2 TDs. Pretty nice interview with him on the Ohio Football twitter page. I like what he said about the WRs, that there's no "veteran" but a lot of guys who are hungry and ready to get after it like Miles Cross and others. I feel like we have 6 or so WRs who will be getting lots of PT...my best guess...Walton, Bostic, J Jones, Cross, Wiglusz, Wilburn, Drummond.

Saw that the twitter account posted a video from student day. Seems like it was a good time for those kids. Not a lot of football action in the video but looks like the players are fired up for #84 Michael Molnar, a FR tight end from Mason HS.

Excited for game week!
