I’m still somewhat amazed that Frank ended up with us. Glad he did. McDavis must have really done a sales job. I have little doubt he could have ended up somewhere else had he wanted a higher profile job.

Whatever anyone might think about Solich, the one thing he was not, was a job hopper. He was looking for a position where he could coach and try to build something. He found that at Ohio.

What are Frost, and other potential prospects looking for? That's for the AD to figure out, in determining who to hire, if she decides she needs to replace Albin. If you are looking at Nebraska for prospects, you could also consider Mickey Joseph, the temporary head coach. He'll probably be out of work at the end of the season, and he seems to be a talented young coach. Or, there is Mark Whipple, formerly coach at U. Mass. So many options... do you want:
1. A young coach who needs an opportunity?
2. An experienced coach looking for another chance, who is already rich from a prior payout, and thus doesn't need a huge salary?
3. A coach with Ohio ties?
4. Someone from the region?
Sorry LC, I was thinking about Solich coming to Ohio in the first place, rather than taking another job after he got here. Sorry I wasn’t more clear on that.

Except Pawpurrs is not in Lincoln, and that is what the poster is saying.

Correct, I just find funny, that the goal of the stated petition was 100 people. As of right now, the petition has OCF and 25 other names.

OCF, I will repost this, since you either missed or ignored last time. Mentions Frost's crack job at recruiting to Nebraska.

This is an interesting article. Looks like he recruited well, but couldn't keep the players he recruited. Why do you think that that was the case?

Quote from the article: "They ranked fourth in the Big Ten in three straight recruiting classes, presumably placing the Huskers in position to contend for championships." Where do you think we'd have been if OHIO had ranked fourth in the MAC in recruiting three straight years. Frank's classes, as far as I can recall, never ranked as high as fourth, certainly not in consecutive years. Frank's approach was to look for potential in under-ranked kids and "coach them up."

In fairness, schools like Nebraska could recruit a paraplegic and rating services would make them a 4 star. Name still means something.

Very true. But what that article got at, is that nearly all of his recruits struck out from Florida. Kind of crazy to think that that many kids did not succeed at Nebraska considering their caliber. Maybe missed character evaluations perhaps?

Perspectives on the weather vary depending on what one is used to. The weather is a particular problem when you are talking about recruits from Florida.

Perhaps that's why Canadian recruits seem to like Athens -- the balmy fall weather! ;-)

I personally think we need to keep Albin for the year - improvement in record - keep him after this year. We would probably lose recruits if we dumped him after this year but if we suffer a massive collapse - I would be tempted to let him go.

But, I'm not the AD.

I'm not sure who started that petition but I don't think Frost would at all help us.

Just hope we pummel Fordham on Saturday.
