Who caught this one? One of the most bizzaro universe college football games I've ever seen. At one point early in the game, LSU's punt returner muffs a catch deep in their own territory. On the ensuing possession, FSU actually went for a fourth down conversion but LSU defense holds on, so that returner is off the hook, right? FSU held onto a double digit lead most of the game, but in the back half of the fourth quarter, LSU scores a touchdown to pull within seven and then forces a punt on the next possession. So LSU is going to have a chance to tie, right? Here's where it gets really weird...

The same LSU punt returner muffs again and FSU picks it up again. Probably worst nightmare for any college player, I'd imagine. On the goal line with about a minute and a half left, FSU calls a pitch to the halfback who drops the ball and LSU recovers. They actually put together a drive and get deep in FSU territory. With no timeouts remaining they throw to an underneath route that converts a first down inside the five and gets out of bounds with one second left. But hold on... replay shows that the runner was down in-bounds. They take a long review, but it's clear. So LSU has to snap it as soon as the ball is made ready, or else the one second will run off and the game is over. Essentially, the ready whistle becomes the snap signal. So what does FSU do? They call timeout, taking that risk entirely out of the equation. Doesn't matter - LSU scores on the play. And then what happened? FSU blocks the extra point and wins by one.

How come this bizzaro stuff like this or the Michigan punter dropping the snap on the last play of the game never happens in G5 games it seems?

Brian Kelly on his punt returner: "You evaluate him through 4 weeks of practice, and you feel comfortable that with his elite skillset and his mindset that he's gonna be able to do a great job. And that wasn't the case. That was a mistake that we made."

Couldn't happen to a classier guy... Brian Kelly, not the punt returner. At least his cajun accent is improving.

God bless the support staff at LSU that has to work with Kelly and Kim Mulkey. At least Will Wade is gone.

I'm glad that some of you folks are finally catching on. I told you Kelly was a egotistical SOB when he was at Central. Makes Brady Hoke look like Mr. Congeniality.

Can you image Frank fingering a player like that? I remember times when he went out of his way to avoid saying anything negative about a player. The muffed punt against CMU comes to mind. He even protected his assistant coaches. At Cincinnati when you know who called for a pass play on the UC 1 foot line at the end of the game, Frank doesn't say, anything except I had the authority to overrule that call and I didn't. The loss of the game was my fault. That's class you won't find at LSU at this juncture.

Quite possibly the dirtiest hit I've ever witnessed occurred in this game. An LSU end absolutely torpedoed FSU's QB after the throw directly in the face with the crown of his helmet. An absolute disgusting play, quite honestly think that kid should be booted from the team.

Why would LSU agree to pay Brian Kelly approximately $9.5 million per year for ten years, on top of agreeing to pay Ed Orgeron $17.1 million to walk away? Classic example of what is wrong with college football.
