Bobcat Love's Sense of Shame

I’m super impressed with the defense! The offensive is finally showing some life too— if we can come out of halftime maintaining some explosiveness on offense, we can at least make this respectable.
I think you are watching the Texas-Bama game. Our jerseys are green and white and the game is on ABC.
Very funny.
My expectations are realistic. I have no delusions about competing for a win, I’m just happy to see the defense playing competitively and not letting things get out of hand, and finally a good offensive drive as well. Putting up some points and not letting it become a complete blowout is fine by me.
Realistic? I thought it was realistic that we lose by like 21 before the game. Now I think it’s realistic that we lose by 40. They’ve actually gone above and beyond realistic in that sense.
When I was in the 8th grade my team only won one game and it was 100% due to trick plays. After the game my coach chewed the entire team out talking about how cheap of a win it was and how trick plays are for teams that suck. He was 10,000% right. We put up a few points because we were cheap and the other team wasn’t paying attention. We didn’t impose any sort of will on them. We just tied their shoes together and they shrugged it off.
Sounds like you didn't impose any sort of will on them in the other games, too. And that, you know, your team sucked. You went 1 and whatever. If trick plays are for teams that suck, it seems like that particular team should've been using trick plays, no?
Or do you think some vague notion of the importance of "imposing will" is more important than winning the game?
