That is a neat item that I might consider paying $50 or even $100 for.

The framing of this nice piece cost more than $100

Why would they receive no bids for something like this?

Its a lot off money, when you can buy a photo autographed by Solich for $55.00 on Ebay.

Granted, no piece of used turf.

But you can get the photo mounted in a pretty nice frame for a lot less then $1500.

With the generosity of some of our fans, I'm shocked that we haven't already built a basketball practice facility, or that it took so long to get an indoor football facility.

They did this about 15-20 years ago with the old convocation center floor. I remember they sold pieces of the actual floor but I don't think getting Larry Hunter's autograph (or anybody else's) was an option.

A dear friend of mine and fellow Bobcat paid $150 for a 6 x 4 foot piece, paid another $50 to rent a pick-up truck and got a $200 speeding ticket on the way back to cleveland. The piece was heavy as hell to move and remains in his basement.

He never one a MAC title and wasn't good at recruiting. Heard it here a 1000 times, so that price needs to go down. ;0

I honestly can't tell if you are being sarcastic.

They wouldn't receive any bids because the starting bid is $1,500...

The entire purpose of these things is to be fundraisers. You know opportunities to raise cash to help support the department and athletic programs.

I hear you, I was mostly speaking for myself I guess. No way I can afford that as a starting bid.

I hope all 9 get bought but wonder if they would lower that starting bid at some point if they don't end up with bids.

I'm with you on it is out of my budget right now too. Wish there were a few cheaper options to go along with these items. Maybe next time.

Honestly would be a lot cooler if it was cut down to like a 1x1 square or something. I have a piece of the CAVS championship floor, only cost me $50 though.

Email that I received said November 2.

UPDATE!

We have made some adjustments to our Peden Stadium turf auction.

Fans have the opportunity to bid on a framed piece of the old turf taken straight from the 50-yard line of Peden Stadium. Each item is signed by the legendary coach, Frank Solich. What makes this piece of history extremely valuable.....ONLY NINE OF THEM WERE PRODUCED!!

Fans have the opportunity to bid on this exclusive piece of Bobcats history up until November 2nd.

Opening bid starts at just $500 per piece.
There is also a BUY NOW option for fans that would like to skip the bid process and immediately purchase the piece of memorabilia for $2,500.

Yeah, they rebooted it when they lowered the prices.
