First and foremost... WIN
Second... road win and re-entering contention for MAC East
Third... D made strides, albeit against a team whose offense is a disaster. D line was awesome and I hope they can apply that kind of pressure next week.

Fourth... Offense is concerning. Took a big nosedive mid 2nd quarter. Truly, hasn't impressed against any defense with a pulse. It's still hard to fathom that Ohio benefitted from SIX TURNOVERS plus one on downs Deep in WMU territory. These were all after we already hit the 20 point mark. turned that into 13 points. Sorry, but ouch. I for Ineffective.

Rourke is amazing when he has all day, but once Western smacked him in the mouth the whole tenor of the offense changed. After starting like 11-11 ( and to his credit, damn did he throw some seeds) he finished 11-23 with a pick. he missed high, missed low. Credit WMU for improving pressure and they definitely covered us better though. Offense can't disappear like that and we don't have the running game to keep things rolling and eat clock when we have a lead.

I find this sequence alarming, but I know it's the MAC and crazy shit happens:

WMU - muffs punt
OHIO - 4 plays 6 yards, downs

WMU - INT
Ohio - 7 plays 48 yds missed FG (fairly productive)

WMU - INT
Ohio - 4 plays 1 yard. FG

WMU - INT
Ohio - Fumble

WMU - Downs
Ohio - 2 plays, 8 yards TD

WMU - INT
Ohio - 7 plays, 41 yds FG

WMU - INT
Ohio - just ran clock

And another thing, when did Western Michigan University go all in on brown? They look like an underfunded high school team. Black and gold is a good sports color scheme. Use it.

Seeing as how brown has been their colors for 98% of its existence.

And to the post above, didn’t take long for someone to have a complaint about a good road win.

Yes, hard to fathom.

But not as hard to fathom as the following: defense forces 9 turnovers (3 interceptions and 6 fumble recoveries) and loses 32-7. One of the INTs was a pick-six, so the offense turned the other 8 turnovers into 0 points. Result? A 32-7 loss for the Newark High School Wildcats Friday night v. Groveport.

I believe there is a game plan every other defense will follow from here till the end of the year. Pressure the quarterback.

Some may not be concerned about the lack of consistent offensive production in the second half of the Kent and Western games, but it’s going to end up biting us again.

Revolutionary strategy. Seriously, though, Rourke seemed to get his bell rung on a facemask call in the second quarter and wasn't "right" for 2-3 series. He did make some big throws later though.

Ohio was 0-2 on 4th down and WMU was 0-3. WMU had 5 interceptions and a muffed punt. Ohio has an interception and a lost fumble. 13 drives ended with a turnover or turnover on downs. 2 drives ended at the end of each half. 5 drives ended in TDs. 4 drives ended in FGs and one in a missed FG.

Only 2 drives ended in punts. One was a fair catch. The other was muffed.

Still giddy over this win.

WOW! Great game, Bobcats. Getting this win on the road is massive! I believe in our offense. It was amazing to see our defense step up too.

Vakos has to be MAC Special Teams POTW. He will be a great asset in November.
He was. Bangura is Offensive player of the week. All four times Ohio won its game Rourke or Bangura was MAC East OPotW.
