I forgot to add Brian Hartline Osu WR coach but I doubt he would come here
I've brought this up in another thread before, it's buried somewhere.
Athens isn't the glitz and glamour of picking up recruits in lamborghinis, but OU could offer Hartline something many cannot - a head coaching job and the ability to stay close to home.
He may leave in two years, but that means we've had two years of success and are in a far better position to hire than we are right now.
At this point, Hartline is riding a pretty successful run as a WR assistant. Lord knows an OSU WR coach probably makes more than our head coach. But I'm certain he's ready to prove himself as something other than a recruiter (and at a school that recruits itself, no less.)
What are the chances he becomes Ohio State's offensive coordinator...? I imagine they are pretty slim. So what is he waiting on? That first large enough OC job? That comes with risk. Few years there? Then what? *Hopefully* a P5 job offers?
Ohio could skip a step, make a major play for him, while allowing him to stay close to home and a recruiting area he's familiar with.
Only problem is, they should've done it a few months ago.
