Is there a BA poster with a bigger extended family than OCF? Not sure there's been a discussion on BA where OCF didn't have a relative connected to that discussion. Whether it's a relative in Ohio, New Jersey, west coast, New England, etc. . .
Well, when one of your hobbies is genealogy you find a lot of relatives. For the record, the recent mention of a a relative in New Jersey was my wife's family. Her maiden name was Halley; her g-grandfather, Levi Halley, of Greenville, Ohio, married a woman from New Jersey, of Dutch heritage, by the name of Carrie Vorhis. One of her Halley relatives, a fourth cousin, lives near Rutgers. Aren't you glad you asked? ;-)

Hey, you didn't even mention my mother's family from Iceland!

Prior to turning 21, any bar that would let me in with my awful fake ID, usually the Cats Eye or getting to the Pub for happy hour before they started carding, grabbing a booth and staying until close.

After turning 21, really didn't matter. Went with the flow and where my friends wanted to go. Usually ended up at the CI. The $1 basket of peanuts was cheap bar food at it's finest.

For striking out with members of the opposite sex: The Greenery. I'm pretty close to Eugene Levy's character in Best in Show and dance like I have 2 left feet.

While certainly impressive, I don't recall ever asking.

Your statement seemed to imply to me that your curious mind wanted to know more.

Graduated in 2006 and had to stay an extra summer session to finish completing my credits. That summer Red Brick Tavern had $1 draft Bud Lights all summer, all day every day. My roommate and I would get out of class and go straight there and be good to go and only short about $10 out of our pocket. Had some great times there.

Cats Eye was always my go-to other than that. When I'm back in town I always have to stop at Tony's for hot nuts shots.

And I'm not sure why we're even debating this when everyone knows the best bar in town is Smiling Skull.

As far as favorite drink? It never failed but anytime I ever went to a random house party there was always a keg of Amber Bock. I don't think I've drank it since I left Athens but I always found that hilarious.

I have the fondest memories of Red Brick, mostly due to karaoke on Thursdays. Great times were had.

When I was at OU (2000-2005), Amber Bock and Killian's Irish Red were the two go-to beers when you wanted to class things up a little bit. My now-wife was very impressed when I showed up to her place with a sixer of Killian's the first time we hung out outside of class.

Dantes Inferno

Roaring 20s

Club 33
Club 33, now that's OLD school. My uncle who attended OHIO both before and after WWII always mentioned the Club 33 when he talk about his favorite haunts. I must confess that I was there a time or two in my younger days.
I heard a story that there was a fantastic football player and as tough as nails, from the Nelsonville area circa early 60's. He went to OSU on scholarship but didn't stick. He and another were in Club 33 and challenged by older men. The two fastened something about their wastes to tie them back to back. Then they took on the gang of elders by protecting each other and throwing wicked punches by swinging each other around. Perhaps fiction but as a youngster at OU the story was lapped up by listening ears.

There are those Urban Legends.

One told to me when I frequented The Inferno was two heavyweights trading punches.

The two combatants were purported to be Wrestling Legend Harry Houska and Football Legend Frank Peters.

You may wager who supposedly won.
