This has the "Maple Missile" at sixth in the nation.

Would be nice to see an epic performance against the Bulls.

I never would never have thought how much further down the list the QB's for the top P5 schools would be.

The P5 guy 70 miles northwest of Athens has 28TD passes; he would rank #1 in my book not #19. More yardage with more attempts doesn't rate anywhere near total TD passes made unless the team the QB plays on scores lots of rushing TD's.

In passes attempted, and he's #6, which is part of why he's so high in yards. In Pass Efficiency, the "Maple Missile" (shouldn't that be "Maple Leaf Missile Launcher"?) is #20:
https://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/current/individual/8

If you look at ESPN's number, "QBR" which factors in rushing as well, the Maple Leaf Missile Launcher is #52, at 63.6, 3rd in the MAC.
https://www.espn.com/college-football/qbr
https://www.espn.com/college-football/qbr/_/sort/cwepaPas...

On the other hand, in terms of his passing's impact on his rating, his is #5. The thing hurting his QBR rating the most is his sacks. Ohio line needs to protect him better, and/or he needs to throw it away more often.

By the way, I agree with you that this team has the potential to have a season parallel to 2006. They started with little respect, and are a senior laden team. They are a team with heart, and a team with the potential to just win them all, one game at a time. I still think that 2006 might have won the MACC is Everson hadn't had to play the game with a bad ankle. Just because the potential parallels are there, that doesn't mean they will happen. The team needs to keep refusing to lose, and make it happen.

I share these rankings with my son, who tells me you have to consider the competition. I don't disagree. With one exception I tell him being Vakos' ranking. His FG accuracy will translate to high school competition, D-III competition, B10 competition, NFL competition, etc. . .

With one exception to my exception being high school FG kicking.
