Through six games (Western Michigan ongoing) Kurtis Rourke has 1,922 yards passing and 14 TD this season.

Where he stands - currently - in the Ohio All-Time Record Books:

(6th) 4,417 career yards passing

(5th) 28 career passing touchdowns

(8th) 4,467 total offensive yards

(9th) 33 career touchdowns

On pace...

#1 in single season passing TD w/ 28 = current 28 held by Nathan

#1 in single season passing yards w/ 3,844 = current 3,302 held by Tyler Tettleton

#3 in career passing yards (6,000 projected) = (Nathan is #2 with 7,454 yards, Tett #1 w/ 9,125 yards)

Maybe it's COVID and the fact he's following his brother, but Kurtis is quietly putting together what could be the best passing career (and single season) in the history of Ohio football.

Could be player development under a new coach after a year.

Scott Isphording has been the QB coach since 2014, and he's done a good job with the quarterbacks, so far as I can tell. I presume you are referring to the addition of Brian Smith as Running and Passing Game Coordinator?

I’m curious how much of this year success on offense is because of Brian?

I'm still not sure we appreciate how good Kurtis Rourke is and how lucky we are to have him. He throws a GREAT ball and plays smart. I sure hope we have at least 1 more year of him.

He's been great to watch and has a hell of an arm... but just once i'd like to see him really carve up a medium to good defense. We know what he can do against Fordham and Akron.
