Any idea if there are any plans to make this happen? I just thought about Phil running the Bobcat vs. the Buckeyes and I literally had to take a break at work due to over-excitement. It would just be so great if we could run the football this year.

Isn't a good chunk of our base offense the wildcat anyway? To me, the wildcat means pro teams copying the spread option that so many college teams employ.

I'm thinking perhaps along the lines of having Bates line up next to Boo as a half-back, and taking a direct snap (which I've also thought would be mighty interesting!).

Don't forget that Bates played wide receiver at Iowa State....a 230 pounder with 4.5 speed who can run and catch and throw.......ahhhhhh.....that nice.

I have been watching Ohio Football for a long time and I have never seen an athlete better than Bates. He is a couple of notches above the MACs best. He must get touches. If everyone stays healthy and keeps their heads this will be a memorable season.

BTW Paul Graham ..I hear you have plans to marry up in the windy city soon.
Any chance the future Mrs Paul Graham is a Bobcat too?

Have you been watching Ohio football long enough to compare Bates with the likes of Todd Snyder, Cleve Bryant, Bob Houmard, or Bucky Wagner?  If so, I'd like to hear it.

I was on campus as a student during the glory days of late 60's early 70's. I was at every home game and many in state road games in those great seasons. I saw 10 games in person last year. I stand by what  I say about Bates. If you have not seen him in the open field you are in for  treat.

I'm more concerned about our base running game.  If that is solid, we gonn' be good.

In terms of a qb who's a threat to run, don't I remember that a jr. institution some 60 miles NW of the Bobs thinking that they have a qb who's lights out mobile?  What's the comparison....

Ytown -- I hope you are right.  I'm really looking forward to seeing for myself.  If he's as good as the guys I mentioned, he's a great athlete indeed!
