With guys like Oxley, Harden and Payne either being suspended or dismissed or whatever. Is anyone else aware of additional transfers, or players hanging up the cleats that would screw up my mental depth chart?

I may have been asleep, but, Cole Bunner is not back. Ryan McGrath is now #60. Not sure why, Tough to lose linemen going into their 4th or 5th year. In any event, thanks to Cole and best wishes in his future.

I think I read that  Bunner had a chronic career ending injury. I think he has graduated also.

Thanks, football can be brutal. Some have to work extremely hard to participate and their bodies tell them when they are done. Life can be soo much better when your body stop hurting. Again, thanks Cole.

Is there a more updated roster than the one posted in April on the website?  There's one player I'm hoping see return in the fall that I wanted to check on.

We will post the fall roster in conjunction with MAC Media Day, which will be held in Detroit on July 30.

Thanks.

With Bunner gone, we are thin at tackle.  Few running backs, no fullbacks, no punter on schollies, man we are getting a little short in numbers in lots of places.

I'm not worried about our offensive line. Some of us knew a while back that Bunner wouldn't be returning. Even without him and James Davis, we have a lot of lineman in camp. Running back is a concern. Our offense isn't really structured to utilize a fullback like we did in '06. Save for short yardage situations, we'll be fine.

That's true, but those short-yardage situations sure were hard to bare last year. It looked better for this year, but now we're back at the same spot there. It's definitely a weakness that will have to be overcome.

This discussion is interesting because it shows how different people choose to look at the same set of "knowns".  While I'm not necessarily a "sky is falling" type of guy, I am a "belt and suspenders" type who prefers lots of extra insurance, if you will, in dealing with depth on a football team.   Many will say, as will I, that you play with the hand dealt you, because there's not much you can do about it at this point in time.  It just doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy about our situation with the shortages in several key spots.  And sure we can move guys from somewhere else-guard-but I suppose they are guards for some reason instead of tackles.  I'll step aside and listen to the forthcoming listing of all the guys we can depend on to fill the lost players shoes.

There has got to be a stud fullback out there who isn't being recruited because of all the teams with a spread offense. I hope that will be a priority with recruiting next year.

Our problem lies with not recruiting "Iamhuge" who was self promoting himself in the winter months.  That kid would have been the difference maker!

Not quite. It's "work out and then go sit in the corner."  Kinda what Big Ben is going to be doing in Pittsburgh from what I understand.
