Sagarin (USA Today) puts the Bobcats at 69 (69 elo-chess anf 74 predictor) out of 246 teams, CBS as noted earlier has Ohio 67 of 120 and Fox has Ohio at 90 out of120 (very conservative) on its power ratings. Only Temple is rated above Ohio among MAC teams in the first two polls but Fox even has Northern Illinois (which lost its opener) higher than Ohio. Kinda hard to understand their rating logic. Maybe they have Sarah doing it.

MAC wasn't strong last year and it didn't impress very many folks in week 1. No FBS wins for the MAC in week one. No one will be impressed by last weeks performance. We will need to win week after week and show that we can win the games we should on our schedule. At the end of the season if we are 10-2 or 11-1 then people will notice that we had a good year. Right now we aren't any different than the rest of the MAC. NIU played Iowa State decent. Hard to compare teams that played a BCS team on the road vs a team that played a fcs cupcake at home. That fact that NIU defense kept a BCS team under 30 was impressive by MAC standards. Most MAC team give up over 30 to BCS teaams. Miami seems improved as their defense did well vs Florida.
