How did Bobcat Love's protest (walk out) go?   Did not see any highlights on Sportscenter. Just wonderin.  Did he walk out before he purchased and reviewed his pretzel? These are things that should be in post-game recap!

Huh?

Me thinks it was a failed coup.

Wofford was not such an inferior opponent as some would lead us to believe.

Hopefully they showed us how underdogs can play hard and actually outplay a superior opponent.

This might be a lesson for us to learn for the Shoe.

Are you stating that we got outplayed by Wofford?

I call-em the way I see-em....if I don't see-em I make-em up.

We must play better against the Space Cadets....and hopefully we will.

We must play better granted, and that will happen as we try and get better every week.  May I ask for examples of how we got outplayed?

We held a team to 0 passing yards, and as I see in the notes we are #1 in the Nation in Pass Defense.  We forced two turnovers, we scored a defensive TD.  We closed the game out with a strong running game picking up large chunks of yardage.

The 0 passing yards from a team that doesn't pass....quite an accomplishment.

Don't get me wrong....the question isn't did we or did we not get outplayed......the question should be if we did why did we get out played and the answer is obvious.  I'm happy we used the "vanilla" offense.  Do you think that offense could actually beat Toledo?

I think we beat Toledo and have a chance to upset OSU....it's just I've seen a ton of games including the last 2 defeats in the MAC championship and the bowl game....and the only 2 that left me unimpressed were Kent State and the Wofford game.

Sure I'm glad to see a running game....all the Debbie Downers on this board kept that only 2 schollies....only 2 schollies crap until it was a mantra.

Boykin is the real deal and Brown may surprise.

But with that said....our defense had trouble with the option.....just watch Ryans video on the Wofford video thread....and our d-linemen just didn't dominate.

It will be different against a non-option non-wingbone team....how do you think we were able to be successful with that kind of offense when we ran it......teams just aren't  ready to play against that kind of offense.

Hey I'm happy with the win.....just don't think the Wofford coach was that far offbase.

If I recall correctly, I believe the Love was passing on attending Wofford, and the walkout is scheduled for LA-Laf., and by extension, no pretzel review this week.

You are correct. As I recall, much was made of the difficulty he'll have in getting students to walk out of a game held ON HALLOWEEN

Agree with The Doctor.  To have the grand year that we hope for, we shoulda been better against Woffy.  What, it was only 17-10 and/or 20-10 into the fourth quarter.  Our offense (since one TD scored by punt coverage) had put up only 13 points.  Not impressive as anyone with reasonable vision..sorry, Wanny...could clearly see and feel.

The comment about leading the nation in pass defense is absurd.  Wanny, I know you're better than that lame argument.  Uh, not such great pass defense on their fake field goal.

In related news, I was voted Most Amazing Male in my one-male-only household.

On the fake FG, Carrie recovered fast, when he realized the trick - a guy hid over by their sideline and didn't go into the huddle. Even if the receiver had not stepped out of bounds, it would have been only pass interference, not a TD.

After every game there are things teams can and should do to improve, but I never had any doubt about winning the game.

I think our defense played reasonably well. More than 40 percent of Wofford's offense came in the first quarter -- 98 of 220 yards -- when we were adjusting to the option attack. More than 25 percent came on a fourth quarter drive that resulted in no points. In between, they didn't do much at all.

I'll give the Terriers credit for going 4-6 on their fourth down plays. But, they were 2-12 on third down which suggests to me that for most of the night we put them in down/distance situations that were less than favorable for an option attack.

Our offense wasn't explosive by any means and a had a slow start. We picked it up in the second half, though. We were pretty efficient overall  -- 6-13 on third down, 1-1 on fourth down and 5-6 with our red zone opportunities.

The name of the game is winning!  Ask Navy about that, there was a game of pure and total dominance and all they got to show for it was a lose!

Be Happy, trust the players and coaches to get better every week.  Geesh, Doc, you spend 9 months all year calling me Debbie Downer and then each year when the season starts I'm too happy and optimistic.
