Very impressive -- over the now 0-2 Virginia Tech.  Let's put James Madison in the BCS Championship now against Boise...

I believe I said this last week on the post, let it play out and that VT could easily be BYU's defeat of Pitt in 1984.  Pitt was ranked #3 preseason and won three games.

This loss will hammer Boise in the computer polls.

Every member of the Corporate arm of the BCS breathed a big sigh of relief because now they have their "out" for why Boise State doesn't get their shot at the NC. Shame...was eventually going to come up...but still a shame. I guess BSU should be glad that they know the collective BcS reason now rather than the BcS logic pretzels that were sure to twist together in November.

Makes me wonder what we're really for when anyone here delivers implicit cheers against Boise State?! Because if we were in this spot, we would be fighting the corporation of the BCS for our legitimacy and wondering "What else do we have to do?"

How is his game off point?  Going undefeated (in my opinion) should not be the sole barometer for the NC game.  in the end when this all plays out, we will see what the records are over the long haul.

How thinly veiled can a pro-Ohio State post get?

Rememnber this post when the Miami Hurricanes lose five games this season. And when Penn State loses three times. And when Iowa loses two games.

Or you could just think about last year when USC lost five games.

If we denigrate Boise because their marquee match-up turns out to not be so marquee, let's denigrate all teams for their marquee games turning into suck.

This was not a pro-anything post.  It was an anti-Boise post.

All of those things you said may well happen.  But my guess would be Penn State, Miami, or Iowa won't lose to a team the calibur of James Madison.

And once again someone brings Ohio State into a conversation.  Amazing!  You know Miami will lose again, PSU will as well, what does that have to do with Boise State?

Again. If you don't cheer for or, at the very least, hope that Boise State gets to the NC or a BCS bowl then you cannot claims Ohio University as your favorite team.

Unless you believe that the best thing Ohio can do is win the MAC and play in thenpizza bowl.

This post isn't pro anything, but reeks of the crass classism pursued by those in the BcS who would like to shut out everyone not in their little Polo club.

Boise State has absolutely NOTHING to do with Ohio University in any way.  Our two situations are so vastly different.

Presently, yes.  Long-term, no.  If Boise cannot break through the glass ceiling created by the BCS and qualify for the national championship game, then we will never have any hope of doing so ourselves as long as the current system is in place.  In which case, one can only wonder what the point of the entire football exercise is, if the best we can strive for is the Pizza bowl, with a 1% chance of a meaningless BCS game should everything fall into place.

WRONG!  I absolutely hope that Boise runs the table and plays in a BCS game, just not the last one that is played.  I would very much enjoy watching them beat Oklahoma again.  I am not purely anti-Boise.  I am just anti-Boise BCS Championship.

Actually, I am anti-BCS all together.  Bring on the playoff.  But if that never can happen, I would love to see OU play in a Fiesta or Orange bowl.

I posted something very similar to my Facebook last night. "I guess that win over Virginia Tech wasn't so great after all," or something similar to the point.

This is not an Ohio State board, and OzCat never brought up Ohio State until another poster did. This is a thread that just shows once again why Boise will not belong in the NC game if they do in fact get in.

And just IMHO, Miami really didn't play that bad yesterday. I thought for the most part they outplayed Ohio State outside the awful INTs thrown by Harris. Their offense exposed Ohio State's defense. I dont see them losing too many more games, let alone five more as someone else mentioned.

Doesn't matter what V tech does.  If Boise wins and looks impressive,  an undefeated Boise goes to the Championship game ahead of a 1 loss anyone.  OSU and Alabama should be pulling ahead now.  But if they lose, Boise goes ahead of them.  Painful for some I understand, but that is how the reality is setting up.

I like the bowl system better than playoffs solely because of exposure we would get.  In a playoff system, there would be 16 teams playing, the rest at home.  How well would that work out for us?  At least our bowl is a televised event where the University gets exposure and money from the sponsorship.  The team would get to play for something at the end of the season.  Just my two cents.
