Can anyone explain our annual crap-in-a-box performance in an important home game?  Last year was Kent.  Year before BGSU.  Why is there always one game where we seem totally unprepared/incompetent?

My theory is that occasionally, minute tectonic plate shifts foster an environment in which the sucking that usually prevails under Oxford is temporarily transferred to Athens leaving OUr boys with no chance in hell of posting a W.

I am guessing every team that goes 7-1 in league play says the same thing.

Ohio 7-1 last year
Temple 7-1 last year
The OSU - Purdue loss last year
The OSU - Ohio loss this year

Unless you win a Title...there is always one game.  Better than the alternative where we used to look forward to playing EMU or Kent for our one win opportunity.

The difference is we seem to always have this game at home against a team we should beat with little problem. We lose to teams finishing in the middle of the MAC. At least Temple's slip up was to a good team on the road.

But I hope this is the case now, that it was our one bad game.

I mean, Theo blowing chunks in the trash can on the sidelines last year against Kent, and resulting thrusting into the game of our third-string QB might've been somewhat in play (not to mention Theo's valiant attempts to play sick -- he made a Hell of an effort, but it just isn't easy to play in that condition).
