I can't believe it took this long to finally establish himself as the guy.  I have some hope for the rest of the season.  Bates must be an amazing practice player.

Boo's lack of ball security is the main thing about him that worries me.  He fumbled once today, and he still carries the ball in a loose fashion that scares me every time I see it.  Overall, though, I will agree that he has established himself as our leading QB and a man who can be game changer.

Still throws the ball better than the guy pretending to be a paraplegic QB from Iowa State.

What a cheap shot!

Yeah, his stats were decent today -- against one of the worst teams in Division I.

For a guy who, at times, seems to be knowlegeable about and supportive of the players, coaches and school, this comment sounds very juvenile. When a player doesn't measure up to your so-called standards, you throw a name-calling tantrum! I happen to think that Bates will make some significant contributions to the team's success when he is healthy. In the meantime, I am happy for Boo's and the rest of the team's successes.

No question. This topic is d-o-n-e. He's a Senior and he cares. I am with Boo driving this bus that's about to hit Bowling Green head on.

Maybe a tad harsh in the QB description, however no malice meant.  Phil is a good guy and he is a very talented football player, however he is not a Quarterback.  Period!  Our offense does not even resemble an offense when he is behind center.  If you want to argue the point feel free.

No name calling tantrum just a little harsh humor.  I was going to edit but since several of you were nice enough to quote the post, there is no sense in me taking it out.

I do not kow why it took so long for Boo to emerge as the leader of the BOBCAT offense.  I just hope he remains our No. 1 QB and avoids injuries.  The confidence I had before the season for our offense has finally been restored.  With Boo and our excellent corp of receivers, I believe we can be very good and challenge every opponent.  If only our defense hadn't taken such big hits - losing Noah and Gerald.  GO CATS!

I got this one for you, Wanny.

84--You obviously missed Wanamker rule #1:  The coaches are always right.

For those of us who take a more nuanced view--those of us who have our M.O.--that Boo has not been the main person all season is something of a puzzlement.

Never said they were always right, just say I am not going to draw up schemes for them.  Example, I do not like the Pistole on short yardage or from own EZ, however I watch games and that is the latest trend in College football, and our staff is the ones who get paid for these decisions, their jobs depend on these decisions, so I trust that they know what they are doing and why they are doing it.

As for the QB situation according to the Messenger when Bates is back he is right back taking equal snaps. :(

It worries me that we only scored 3 points in the first quarter and none (0) points in the fourth quarter!

+1

I LOVE me some Boo but I too flashed back to '08 when he fumbled knocking on the door again.  He's definitley OUr answer but he's gotta take care of that pigskin.

This game was exactly what we needed exaclty when we needed it...Outstanding effort on both sides of the ball!  With all the injuries and bad bounces thus far, this team could have gone either way...They showed Saturday that they realize they still own their own fate (and they care!) and that we are indeed deep on D!!!

Keys to BGSUcks...

Crowd (read LOUD)
Win the turnover margin
Mixing in Phil (any way you can)
Boykin showing pass pro growth during the week and sharing the load with Vince
Wrapping up!

Go Get'em Boo!!

YAWN!

Riding the Boo roller coaster again.  Wake me when we get to Detroit, please.  When our QB (whoever it is) brings us a MAC Championship, I'll declare him the #1 guy - that day anyway.
