BOO JACKSON IS A CLASS ACT. IT AMAZES ME THAT THIS BOARD WOULD SPEAK ILL OF SUCH A  FINE HUMAN BEING. I CAN NOT NAME THE NUMBER OF TIMES THAT I HAVE SEEN BOO BEING A LEADER,MENTOR,PEACE MAKER OR OVERAL AMBASSADOR FOR OHIO UNIVERSITY! HE DID NOT GET OUTWARDLY UPSET WHEN HE WAS BENCHED HE SUPPORTED HIS TEAMMATES ..ENCOURAGED AND HELPED BATES..AND SHOWED THAT HE WOULD HIMSELF REMAIN PREPARED TO LEAD THE TEAM AGAIN. I AM NOT THE OHIO FOOTBALL COACH BUT WHATEVER THEY SAW THAT MADE THEM CHOOSE BATES AS THE STARTER FOR SEVERAL GAMES..I DID NOT SEE. WITH THAT SAID BOO MAY NOT WIN OUT THE MAC AND WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP BUT HE WILL BE THE BEST CHANCE WE HAVE AND WHY WOULDNT WE WANT SUCH A GREAT YOUNG MAN TO GO OUT ON TOP!

Not real sure what threads you have been reading (or what you have been smoking), where are these post that disparage Boo as a person, a teammate, or a QB?  Only criticism I have seen are valid and revolve around holding on to the ball.  But hey, people are in the mode to ignore facts lately.

Amen, for the most part. I never understood why anyone with a knowledge of football thought bates was the right choice at QB. Boo has always been our best passer and quite frankly, despite Phil's obvious talent running the ball, Boo is a better decision maker with the ball in his hand on options, choosing when to scramble, etc. Who cares if he fumbles here and there, he's a qb, qb's fumble. He hasn't had any fumbles that have cost us a game that I can remember since Central Michigan 2 years ago, and if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have had a shot in that game in the first place. I'm glad Frank finally sees the light as well since apparently his record breaking season 2 years ago (in 10 starts mind you) wasn't enough.

All I know is that I overheard a lot of "Boo is Bad" comments from Ohio fans at the OSU game and a few early in the Marshall game.
I've always thought Boo is a class act-even if his arm is not totally up to top shape..

Boo is definetly a class act.  Everyone I know that has had personal contact with him sings his praises as a gentleman, scholar, motivator and all around nice guy.  He's also a very good QB.   I still wish, however, that he'd take better care of the ball.  Also, I wonder about the statement that "Frank has seen the light."  How do we know that Bates might not come in as QB some of the time against BUGS?  Lots of assuming going on here!

Early in the season, I recall reading comments about how fortunate we were to have such high caliber athletes like Boo and Phil at QB. People raved about both. When the season started, fans seemed to be excited about Phil because of his significant running and adequate throwing abilities, and, when Boo came in, comments were made about his weak arm strength due to slow injury recovery. Now it seems that Phil is recovering from a hand injury, and Boo's arm is near full strength again. It sounds like both have played well when healthy and not-so-well when injured.

I don't think either need to be criticized. I do think the QB who gives us the better chance to win should be on the field.

With all the talk of Phil's running ability, does anyone think he should be a running back?
