BG wastes several plays not advancing the ball to setup FG attempt from 20 with about :30 second left.  FG wasn't good.  On the webcast I couldn't see it well enough to see whether it was wide, short or partially blocked.  Seemed to me to be poor coaching on the part of BG not to try to advance the ball further after untimely UB fumble.

Buffalo should have run away with that game. Their big lead disintegrated when Davis threw that big pick-6 late in the game. They let BG hang around and it almost bit them. Luck was on their side today.

I was following this game on ESPN GameCast. Some crazy numbers from the box score:

- Buffalo 27 first downs to BG's 10
- Buffalo 441 yards to BG's 176
- Buffalo 12/19 on 3rd down conversions and BG 3/16
- Buffalo runs 92 plays to BG's 62
- Buffalo TOP 38:22
- Buffalo 6 turnovers, BG 5

Pankratz 12-37 for 167 yards with 2 TD's and 3 INT's. He's subbing for Schilz who is injured, not sure of his status for next week.

Looks like BG D is vulnerable. However, I think they forced 5 TO's from Marshall. With the 6 this week, Ohio needs to take better care of the ball than they did vs. EMU.

Just realized that I went to HS with the guy who missed the kick.  Bryan Wright was a 2006 Salem graduate (i was 2004), was all-Ohio and hit a 60 yarder in 2005. He played at Michigan the past 3 years, with a redshirt freshman year.  UM never used him for more than kickoffs because they had a bunch of kickers... and a member of the Board of Trustees at BG/chair last year is a Salem and BG grad (he donated the money for that athletic center in the North endzone), so I'm sure he persuaded him to come down and get some playing time.

Wright is a heck of a kicker, I graduated the same year he did and my alma mater (Canfield) played in the same conference as Salem.  He kicked a 57 yarder in the pouring rain, and I thought there were big things ahead for this kid.   Still does have a strong leg as evidenced in today's game where he was the PK and punter.

He most definitely still has the leg, which is why he does ALL of the kicking on that team now that he's at the MAC level.  There was an article today in the Morning Journal (Lisbon) where Clawson defended him for last week, said he wasn't going to change kickers for the sake of change this week because a) Wright blew everyone else away BY FAR in camp and b) it was the fact that no one blocked and half of the UB line was at his foot resulted in the miss.  They love him up there.
