For about two years now L.C. (who is probably are strongest poster) has been predicting 2011 as potentially a magical undefeated season based on players and schedule.  Now with The Post reporting it more than likely Brazil and Keller going for the medical redshirt - next year is looking very interesting.  I know many were expecting more from Bates at the QB position so that might be concern and I would have to guess the defensive line will need some help, but it is kind of exciting.

I have not given up on this year by any means - I personally think Eastern Michigan will win three MAC games and I think we might be on crash course to play Toledo again.  So I am not to concerned with our MAC play yet.  We have been killing ourselves - that's what has scared me.

Nostradamus predicted a 11-1 regular season record (13-1 overall) for this year. Already skimming past that prediction and hoping for the best next season? Good stuff.

I guess as a long time Browns fan is is easy to say next year looks very interesting, I feel like "wait till next year,"may have been my first complete sentence. You never know,  Medical Redhirts or not this team loses a lot but agreed the thought of that schedule and the possible returning talent makes it very intriguing.

I also share your thought about the rest of this season this team has a real shot here to find its stride and compete for a MAC East title. They have shown improvment the last couple of weeks and just have to take better care of the football.

LC is a great poster for reasons that have nothing to do with predictions: good analysis and knowledge and a consistently high-class demeanor.  Any case he has made a number of correct calls, I don't keep track of all these but he was pointing to 2009 as a special year if I recall, he was right about that.  He was also one of the very few to say Brazill would be shown to be a "4* recruit" before he graduated, and he was right about that.  Plus, if you take away the OL losses, or just have a few breaks go a different way, this team is easily 4-1 right now consistent with LC's predictions.  Toledo and Marshall ended up being almost coin flips, so it's not like predicting wins in those was totally off-base.

Just for the record, I think the DL losses in 2011 aren't going to be easy to absorb.  And Ohio loses receivers and running backs, and a nice QB in Boo.  But offensive line maturity trumps everything, so I'll bet Ohio still wins the MAC East and the offense is better than it's been in ten years.

There's still some interesting football to be played in 2010, though.  Huge game tomorrow.

I find that if you make enough predictions, eventually you will get one right.

There were a lot of reasons why I expected 2011 to be a good year. Some of those have changed for the better, others for the worse. We'll see what happens when we get there, but in the meantime there is a lot of football to play this year. Time to beat the Falcons. Go Bobcats.

The schedule couldn't be anything more perfect for making a run. Hit BG while they are reeling this week and then next week its Akron at home the worst MAC team. That leaves the Cats 4-3 and a seasoned, confident Oline heading into the Miami game. Take that one then its back at home vs, ULL and then Buffalo on a Tuesday night. Temple on the road then would probably determine the East championship. The cats have a real chance in that one with the receiving game. Kent is the last game but thus far they've been medicore. MAC Championship game would not be against a Dan Lefevor led team for once. If this all comes to fruition I could see the Cats shipped to play in the new Dallas Classic with Mobile and Detroit already under our belts. Thinking way ahead here I know but possible.

My biggest concern next year is at QB. Solich and Co. have been in Athens for 6-7 years now and can put together a decent line. With the way Ohio has recruited at the WR position there is no reason to think its not going to continue to be solid in 2011. The biggest concern is under center. Ohio over the last few seasons has been blessed with Scott and Jackson. History has shown in this program that usually if a QB doesn't look good after a debut he never will. An example of that is Brandon Jones or Tettleton now. Bates is not looking as strong thus far as Jackson and Scott. The clear assumption is Ohio is going to have to find another signal caller for 2011 to at a minimum add depth.

Since L.C. is clearly above saying this, I will...
