WOW....I can't remember the last time we won 3 in a row and by such large margins.

After yesterday's Akron game I read a few articles which made mention of the caliber of talent and the combined record of these teams. But these writers left out the following 3 facts; 1) Good teams win games against the lower tier teams on their schedule 2) All 3 of these victories were by huge margins and I might add beat the spread 3) We obviously did not play down to our competition which is always easy in these games.

Now we have our #1 rivalry game next week, They are 3-0 in the conference, with these wins being similar in reference to the level of competition as our wins.

I don't think we will have any problem getting emotionally ready for this game. In addition we have seemed to figure out how to win on the road which is always a sign of a good program.

The spread this week will be tight, probably going in favor of the home team.

In Year 2 of Solich-ball, I think it was, we had a SEVEN game winning streak that included a number of MAC Conference games and a non-conference win at Illinois.  Here's hoping we end this season with an EIGHT game winning streak and then carry that winning into the post-season games.  Go OHIO!

We control our own destiny regarding the division correct? Win em all and we are in the Championship game.  Can we afford another loss?  Looks like we probably can not afford to lose to Miami.  Just making sure I'm tracking it correctly.

That's life in the MAC.  Hardly anyone beats teams with winning records because they don't play winning teams that often.  Only five MAC teams have winning records overall.  Fiami's four wins were against teams with a combined 7 wins: CMU, Kent and Colo St 2 apiece and EMU 1.  Whoever wins Saturday, it'll be their first win over a 1A team with a winning record.

To win, the Cats will likely have to put up 30+ points again.  Fiami scored at least 27 in its four wins, and even though OU has an awesome defense, they likely won't be able to hold Fiami under 20 pts like Florida, Mizzou and Cincy did.  The D secondary will really need to step up to hold Dysert and the D line will need to control the line.  Same for the O line.  I love the way OU has opened up the playbook.  Not only with the WR option but having  Bates throw to Boo will at least make Fiami keep a defender on Boo when he lines up wide.  And Hershey's fake on 4th and 9 from the OU 21 was a gem.  Now Fiami will have to keep a rush on, making it more difficult to set up a return.

Keep it going Cats.

For what its worth, we had both a 3 game and 4 game winning streak just this past season, though not by the margins the most recent wins have been.

Miami game is huge.  Winner of that game will move (or stay, in Miami's case) #1 in the East.  Yes, we absolutely control our destiny in the East with 1 loss, as Miami is the only no-loss team in the East.  We also play both additional 1-loss teams in coming weeks (Buffalo, Temple).

Big games from here on out (save for Louisiana).

The Hershey play was clearly not a fake.  It was not called as such.  It was a brilliant on-field reaction by a good athlete.

Defense is giving up 21.3 per game, well over 60% passing completion %, and 40% conversion on third downs.  Not good enough.  Not nearly good enough against the comp we've faced.  Someone posted about the 7 game winning streak we had a few years ago (AE year that we went to the first MAC title game vs. CMU).  We gave up 13 ppg in that stretch.  Defense--hello?

we are 3-1 in our last 4, with those 4 teams' combined record being 3-24, and 2 of those 3 wins came from teams within this group. In other words, we've played the bottom of the bottom. Our best win this year has been against FCS Wofford, who are now 5-1.

Miami will be a good test for us, just saw thier QB on ESPN listed as the Capitol One Impact Player of the Week. whatever that is. If we can beat Fiami it will set up a showdown with Temple for the MAC East. Technically we are on track to repeat last year's 9 wins, just need to win out. go Cats.

Dysart is a good QB and Robinson is a good receiver.....if we can contain these 2 we'll have a shot.....but it won't be easy.

This will be the second week in a row Ohio faces a QB they tried to recruit out of High School. Ohio recruited Dysert, as well as both Nicely and Rodgers from Akron.
