Miami 27 CMU 20.  With wins over Kent State and CMU it appears Miami is now a serious contender for the MAC East title.  Bobcats will have to play very well to beat Miami in Oxford.   This should be a rare meeting in the rival where this game could decide things in the East.  Rarely have both teams entered the game with winning records in the MAC.   Central Michigan looks every bit a 2-5 football team. They are a terrible team.  Blown coverage with 19 seconds left leaving a guy wide open with no one within 25 yards. Total meldown by CMU in that one. Give Miami credit. They got a good defense and a great QB.  They are a tough game for us this year no question.  Ohio has to win next week to have real shot at a East title. Miami 3-0 in the MAC and would be in the drivers seat in the division should they beat us.  This is a big game as it always is with Miami.

No qb sacks and prolonged periods of no vigor will not work from here on out.

For those of us long-in-the-tooth, this is a throwback to what we remember in our youth -- Ohio v. Miami in a game that has championship implications.  That's just the way things were meant to be.  Nice to see reality finally returning to the way the cosmos was originally ordered.

does anyone know what the injury situation is on miami's  kicker. That was a stupid fake play they ran yesterday that resulted in him getting hurt. That could decide the game and that too their less then spectacular punter we should havae a decided advantage at special teams.

Agreed. I'm getting that "Fiami nervous stomach" feeling that I haven't had that for many years.

I've had that "nervous stomach" about Miami since this summer when I read the Phil Steele assessment of the MAC. Steele wasn't projecting Miami as a contender, but he assessed the QB as one of the two best in the conference and noted about 20 starters returning.

A snarky reply on BA.com suggested that 20 starters returning from a 2-10 team was essentially a "so what."  I let that comment "lie," knowing it was off the mark.

So now, here they are, squarely in the Cats' path -- and a "must-win" for us.

interesting too see ohio is 3 point favorites as of 945pm on sunday night. Oddsmakers must not be that impressed with anyone's victories over cmu this year I guess.

If only the "oddsmakers" were always right -- at least, this year ... I believe OUr team was favored in all games except OSU (?).

These were the same oddsmakers that had Miami as a 13-point dog in Mount Pleasant last weekend.  I never assume that they know much about the MAC -- unless they've been talking to Scooter McDougle.

Looking forward to a meaningful rivalry game and already ginning up for Hate Week.

Take care,
DG
