Yeah, UL-Lafayette and Buffalo should be wins, no doubt about it. And we've all known since the beginning of the season that we are going to have to beat Temple to win the MAC East.

But looking at the schedule, am I being ridiculous in worrying about that Kent State game Nov. 26? It's a road game the day after Thanksgiving. It would be fitting to beat Temple to supposedly wrap up the division only to lose it all the following week against a middle-of-the-pack team.

God, maybe I've been a Bobcat too long, always expecting the wheels to come off. The Dark Days of the Brian Knorr Era will do that to you, I guess.

(slaps C Money in face) snap out of it!  Let the boys play 'em one game at a time - enjoy the ride while it lasts - just like basketball - you just never know where its going to lead!

Go Bobcats!

I actually in the pre-season picked that game to be our lone trip up game of the year in the MAC, bad time of the year and on the road, its a very scary proposition.

Temple plays at Kent St. on November 6th. Should Temple win, that would give KSU 3 MAC losses. So if Ohio were to beat Buffalo and Temple, the KSU would be meaningless in terms of a MAC East Title. KSU needs a win there to keep their hopes alive, but the Flashes have always found a way to stumble under Doug Martin.

The GoDaddy.com bowl is where it leads.

What do I win?

The KSU game would still matter in that scenario if Miami wins out.  In that case, a loss by Ohio at Kent would give Miami the East Division crown at 7-1.  So we need both KSU and Miami to lose once more, along with an Ohio win over Buffalo, in order for the Ohio-Temple game to be for all the marbles.

Correction:  for Miami to be in the hunt for the MAC East, they need us to lose twice because of the head to head.

We just need to win out against everybody else and the KSU game will mean nill because of head to head in East play.

You realize that you wrote one true sentence and then completely contradicted yourself in the second sentence.  The Kent State game is as important as any of the other games.  With both Miami and us at 1 MAC loss we would have to run the MAC table so that if they did the same we would be MAC East Champs due to the head to head matchup.

With Miami and OU having a loss in east play, wouldn't OU get it because they beat Miami?

Or does the Toledo loss (a MAC west school) hurt our chances for the East title?

Yes, it does.

Divisions are decided by conference, not division record.

There are scenarios where we win the East at 6-2. I'd rather not find out if those apply. Temple very systematically took out some frustration on Beefs and that will be a war in Philly. We are still in a virtual tie with Miami and Kent is only one game behind. Every game appears to be critical. If I had to predict, I'd say we come up short at 6-2, or at the very least will have to count on some fancy tie-breaker calculations.

Beat Buffalo, Beat Temple, Beat Kent. It is the only way.

Temple isn't likely to lose again, and they are even less likely to lose two more. An Ohio loss to Temple would pretty much end things from a practical perspective, even if there are mathematical possibilities. Ohio just needs to take care of business, one game at a time.

LETS FACE THE FACTS WE NEED TO WIN THE NEXT TWO LEAGUE GAMES  THE TEMPLE GAME IS IMPORTANT, AS OUR VICTORY THERE WILL GUARANTEE A BID FOR CHAMPIONSHIP AS MIAMI AND TEMPLE WILL HAVE TWO LOSSES AS TEMPLE WILL BEAT MIAMI.  NOW IF MIAMI SHOULD BE TEMPLE WE NEED TO BEAT KENT  WE WILL KNOW THIS BEFORE THE KENT GAME AS TEMPLE AND MIAMI MEET ON THE 23RD.

FORGET THE IF AND BUTS, JUST WIN OUT AND SOLICH TEAMS HAVE FINISHED OUT VERY WELL.

The only thing that matters now is Lou-La.   All the rest is just loose conjecture.

I'm more interested in which underclassmen are becoming first team All-MAC performers.  Guys who are really starting to make a big mark.

Kent State has a good run defense and secondary. They are not out of as they have the defense to beat Ohio and Temple.  They  are 3-4 2-2 MAC so they are very much alive.  They beat and that game becomes  more important. Ohio can slip up against Buffalo. This is the MAC and no team can be overlooked. BGSU was one two point play from beating Temple in Philly.  That hasn't been a gimmie for us.
