The win over ULL means the Cats will have just one losing season in the past five years.

A win over Buffalo would mean the Cats will have three winning seasons in the past five years.

This program has turned a corner.

You know, we used to lose to nobodies and practically everybody.  Northern Iowa under Jim Grobe and Northeastern under Brian Knorr come to mind.  Having winning seasons is one corner that must be turned.  The next is to beat the big six schools on a regular basis.

Interestingly, NIU is getting votes in the polls, but who have they beaten: 1AA North Dakota and MAC-level Minnesota, along with Temple, Akron, Buffalo, CMU and WMU.  Based on this criterion, OU should get votes in the polls if they beat Buffalo and Temple.

The problem is that we lost to FATMAN and stupd cow.  Former was at home and latter is their only win.  We should be 8-1.  Then, your talkin'.

Two things if we win those games.  Respect.  And a good chance at the fan base getting excited (instead of another 'how's the football team doing?...2 and 3?  same old Bobcats, football is nothing, when does basketball start?!')

The importance of playing to our potential (games are 60 minutes..not 35) and getting the season off to a strong, strong start cannot be overstated.

I wouldn't blow off Toledo like that.  Two of their losses were to Arizona (ranked) and Boise (ranked) and they beat Purdue (4-4) by 11 on the road.  They're also bowl eligible.  Granted the Cats didn't play their best, but Toledo seems to be better than anyone anticipated.  Yes, they lost a game or two they could (should?) have won, but they've also played most of the season without three of the best players on the team: Brazill, Keller and Moore.  I had them winning 7-9 games this year and they're on track for that.

I know no one likes excuses, but the injuries were a bit much early in the year. If we play Toledo and Marshall now, I think we win handily because things are more settled now. Of course, it would help to have Bates healthy, but the truth is we probably have about two weeks until we need him. I still think there is a good chance Ohio wins out and finishes with 11 wins for the first time ever, be considering how the season started, it wouldn't be so bad if there are only 8 or 9 wins.
