We're 14 point favorites as of today.
I won't be surprised if that number increases by Thursday.

I think this game is a blowout.  If they want to win the conference, this is the last chance to prep before Temple.  A big win with no onside kicks would be a step in the right direction.

Turnovers will be the key in this one.  Statistically, both teams are pretty even, but the Cats haven't let TOs get in the way of scoring while the Bulls have.  They were able to stay close to Fiami on Saturday (they were down by 5 after 3 Qs) because they had only one TO to Fiami's 2.  The D line should be able to put lots of pressure on the Bulls' QB -- Zordich is a true freshman.  The Bulls' O line is injury riddled and is using at least one frosh.  The Bulls are giving up 2.5 sacks a game; Zordich has been sacked 10 times in 3 games.  They're worst in the nation in red zone offense (9 tds and 3 fgs in 21 tries) and near the bottom in 4th down conversions (1 of 15).  But they're near the top in defending 4th downs (6 stops in 8 tries).

Wacky MAC stat of the week: Buffalo has scored only three points total in the 1st and 4th quarters this year, and none against 1A teams.  They got a field goal in the first Q of the opening game against 1AA Rhode Island, but zilch since.  They're the only 1A school that hasn't scored in the 4th Q.

While we may not need Bates he could use the reps. He will still have the extra days to heal before the next big game.  Plus, some nice trickery that confuses Temple,  and forces them to practice every option.

I need 2 tickets for this one....can't go myself but  my son had such a great time Saturday that he wants to go Thursday.

Just send me a private message if you have a couple.

EDIT.....that was quick....got a few already.....thanks Ben.

As far as the game goes it looks like the Beefaloes have a depleted o-line.......hopefully that equates with sacks and domination by our d-line.

I have four on the 43 yard-line about 18 rows up.  p.m. me.

Okay, home game vs. pretty indecent opponent on NATIONAL TV.  We need to get it done.

Interesting stat about 1st & 4th quarter scoring. Looks like they start slow and can't go the distance. Frank has always stressed that a team must play 4 quarters and it appears Buffalo doesn't.

That is also a sign that the team is running out of gas this season. 10th game of the year on the road for Thursday night with nothing on the line for Buffalo doesn't look promising for an upset. The bobcats have over a week to prepare after the Buffalo game for Temple which is a very good thing.

I think that the Bobcats will put together a very complete game against the beefs. Win this one then bring on the dirty birds!

From this point on, it's all about defense.

Way to go out on a limb there Jeff.

Ohio 35, Buffalo 31.

Butts in seats:  10,000

(Although, I've heard many non-fan employees on campus talk about going for at least the first half.)

I am hoping for a mistake free, focused effort against Buffalo. If we play smart, and get through this game without injury we can build momentum for Temple. I hope Phil Bates is healthy enough to take a few snaps and knock off the rust.
At this point of the season 12 days between games should be  a bonus
.

Technically Ohio is bowl eligible already, but this should clinch a bowl. A six-win MAC team easily could be denied a spot, but with as many bowl games as there are, pretty much all seven-win teams get one. Of course, we're all aiming higher than that.

I believe (without taking time to look it up) a six game win streak puts us in the top 10 of current win streaks among all FBS teams.

Its really a pity that they went out and stunk up the joint against Toledo and failed on the conversion against Marshall.  We'd be 8-1 and sitting pretty.  Probably generating positive buzz nationally and getting some votes in the polls.  It seems like the Bobcats never do anything the easy way.

On the other hand, it would be pretty cool to end the season with a 10 game winning streak.  It begins tonight.  No interceptions, no fumbles and no stupid penalties.
