According to the Athens Messenger, here are four paragraphs from the APD report:

"According to the release, the melee began when several members of the football team "attempted to rush the south door of the bar in an effort to gain entrance for one or more people who were either underage or had no identification."

"Gray's report said that the bar employees pushed the group back out the door, but that the same group tried to gain entry through the door on the east side."

"The brawl began at the east side entrance of the bar when, according to the release, 'bar staff were attempting to keep the group from gaining entry without proper identification, someone began throwing punches."

"Officers were not able to determine who threw the first punch so no charges were filed," Gray's release stated.

The story is on page 6 of the print version.

Now for the REST of the story.  The Post report states that six members of APD were on the scene where they took multiple statements from witnesses.  Each of the accounts were different.  Because each story was different they could not determine who was a fault, so no charges were filed at the scene.  Thats the way I read the story posted on the home page.

The Post:  "We've got obviously a whole lot of conflicting stories. I think we took seven written statements," Gray said. "Very few of them saw what actually precipitated the fight ... We pieced this together as best we can," he added.

No arrests have been made, Gray said, and the case now will be presented to city prosecutors. Gray said he doubts any charges will result from the fight, as the most likely charge would be disorderly fighting, a minor misdemeanor.

Alan, was kind enough to provide us with statements/quotes from the employees of the bar.

Wrong!  Gray is Lt. Randy Gray of the APD.  Those were quotes from the APD report not employees of the bar.
